I felt the same about the later less cartoony Grand Theft Auto games.

And paradoxically they're more forgiving of the later GTA games while they stripped content out of some of the earlier more cartoonish ones.

More people are killed in Africa from Lions/ Elephants/Hippopotamuses than any potentially deadly aninmal in Australia. The Boomslang Snake of South Africa has a 95% death rate if bitten while the snake with the title of "Most Deadly Snake in the World", the Inland Taipan, has had no confrimed deaths at all. The venom of the Platipus cannot kill and you'd have to be pretty fucking stupid to want to go and pick a (Male) platypus up for shits and giggles.
ON TOPIC: It's good news to see that an R18+ rating is being considered in Australia. Not only will this allow games like Left 4 Dead 2 to have an uncensored version release, it also allows the regulation of video games in the country. As Yahtzee put it the best, not having an R18+ rating for video games is like "Not being able to hunt Vampires in Vampire Land".

It should be noted, however, that Rau also said this: "with the quid pro quo that MA15+ is eliminated as a classification and all games that are now rated MA15+ will be made R18+. This is what I want to happen in South Australia."

The lumping of games which would get an R18+ rating under MA 15+ is the main reason why I'm in favour of including an R18+ rating for games. I've bought a couple of games on Steam which were rated MA 15+, but which I really think should have been rated R18+.
Dead Space seems like one such game. I'm not sure what the rating actually is, but having played it, I'm pretty sure it's MA 15+, but probably should be R18+.
Accidental mistakes are forgivable, intentional ones are not.
