Hina Kagiyama, The Strange Case Of

Curses and cursed energy are odd, in that they home in on but a single target, be it a person, family, town, or even an entire nation. Curses are almost always either subtle enough to be written off as simple bad luck, or sudden and violent enough that by the time one can notice it, it is far too late. Since curses are a particularly corrosive form of magically energy, only a dedicated god could ever hope to contain such a power. ENTER~

The Sudden, Spinning Miracle! ENTER HINA KAGIYAMA!

A dark goddess that once spread curses around as though they were candy at a festival, Hina happened to stray too close to a strange, technological curse doll floating down a river, she found herself bound to it, and forced into a human form. The kappa, who had created the doll, found her, and took her in as a friend. Hina, who in the process had forgotten all but her own name, graciously accepted. After living as a human (and honorary kappa) for years, Hina developed an acute interest in the gods and goddesses, all too real in this world. Whilst flipping through a collection of biographies on various gods and goddesses, Hina came across an entry with an all-to-familiar name.

Name: Hina Kagiyama

Age: Ancient; exact age unknown

A terrifying entity that flies around the world, occasionally assuming the form of a young human woman, but more often as a cloud of deep purple smoke. Known to spread curses everywhere it goes, and according to the reports of a handful of survivors of direct encounters, revels in causing terrible misfortune to all mortals. Threat level EXTREMELY HIGH. No guaranteed way to ward it off. Seems to be resting; in ten years, there have been no confirmed reports of its reappearance.

Hina was stunned. She was once a monster?

That night, Hina dreamed a dream, a dream of her days as a force of terror. She catapulted awake, and a flood of memories came in to her mind. One memory stood out; her transformation into a physical being, and the whirlwind of good fortune that threw her into the doll. It was decided. Hina adopted the dress of that doll, and began to use the green whirlwind as a symbol of her new self, a goddess who would bring joy to the world! With her curse god powers, she would draw misfortune out of others, and with her curse doll body, she would store it within herself! Know, she works, drawing away excessive misfortune and releasing in her home, in a far-flung corner of Gensoukyo, ever vigilant, ever alone... At least spinning is fun.

Hina is one of those characters that just about everyone agrees acts a certain way, but no one is sure WHY. Here's my guess.

I sure said that!

Seems like a bona-fide write-up to me. The use of the kappa is a little bit odd though. I know that Hina hangs out near the kappa, but I wouldn't explain it that way. The kappa, though they are friendly to humans, are somewhat isolationist.

Eh, I kinda wanted to hint at HiNitori, but not in a blatantly obvious fashion.

@ Faw

Yeah, like I mentioned in the bottom, Shou officially fried my mind, I didn't even remember what I wrote.

Maybe once I get my thoughts together I'll edit it and mention that I did so.

Pulse, I think your main problem might be that you take the things I say to heart too much! The most important thing is that you have fun writing the things you write. As long as that is given, it's all okay.

And that write-up was cute. Unusual, but that's not a bad thing.

I'm back. Blame the ponies for my unexplained absence. Also, Yamame and Medicine. Blame theeeem.

Um. I think I may try to make write-ups for Alice and Satori? Maybe? But I just kind of go with the flow when it comes to Alice and a lot of what I think about Satori is tied into Koishi, so I may have some trouble there.

Why did you relink my pretentious Lunar Capital thingy Faw, whyyyyy

It's kind of difficult to write for Satori without accounting for Koishi, at least partially. Don't worry about that.
