Why?
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984I guess because they think there's money to be made and I guess Kit Harrington's not rolling in other offers?
Unless we get him saying "She's muh queen" several times. We riot.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Well, Kit is going to be Black Knight so he has better than most.
But, no, he didn't get the A-list transition he wanted.
He's still a solid B+ verging on A-.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Does kit even have many big roles. Other than black knight and Jon. The only other I know him in is Salem Kotch in Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."He starred in Pompeii so... there's that.
I keep thinking he was Dracula Untold but that's Robb.
Actually, I'm kinda struggling to think of anyone who's had a decent showing post-GOT. Emilia Clarke's Last Christmas is kinda the only one I can think of and even that's borderline damning with faint praise.
... of course it's almost like there's a reason many people weren't making films in the last two years.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. That's not Robb either, that's Luke Evans (who isn't in GOT).
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Emilia was also Sarah Connor and Qira.
So she's fine.
I mean, Terminator 5 was terrible but it's not like it wasn't a big role.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. And whatever she's doing in Secret Invasion.
I was just wondering today who had the best post-Thrones career (if one considers time spent on the show as a factor, maybe Pedro Pascal got the best ROI). The main cast's other roles have been mostly name-recognition franchise-hopping (Terminator, Marvel, Star Wars), which isn't bad, but I don't know if they can open original movies on their own or anything like that.

He was also the main villain in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
Doesn’t he have an MCU gig now?
Kit's been in several HBO mini series, so someone over there really likes him.
He was great in the HBO tennis mockumentary 7 Days in Hell. Dude has some physical comedy chops that tragically will not be put to use in this spinoff.

Our working title for the show is SNOW.
It seems as though Emilia Clarke has already mentioned that SNOW was Kit’s idea in a recent interview. So that part is out. Yes, it was Kit Harrington who brought the idea to us. I cannot tell you the names of the writers/ showrunners, since that has not been cleared for release yet… but Kit brought them in too, his own team, and they are terrific.
Various rumors are floating around about my involvement (with Snow), or lack of same. I am involved, just as I am with THE HEDGE KNIGHT and THE SEA SNAKE and TEN THOUSAND SHIPS, and all the animated shows. Kit’s team have visited me here in Santa Fe and worked with me and my own team of brilliant, talented writer/ consultants to hammer out the show
Huh. He's working on a sequel to a series he hasn't even finished.
Guess it's official and we're not getting winds of winter.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."> Guess it's official and we're not getting winds of winter.
I've kind of accepted at this point Wind of Winter is never happening, shame though
New theme music also a boxHe actually has been working on it according to that same blog post.
He says that every post though. .
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."HE.LIES!
New theme music also a boxI can relate to him taking so long. I add a paragraph to my story at best like, every other day. But reality drains me so much I don’t do much.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.I get it. The broad strokes of his plot were in the show, and the fanbase basically told him they hate it. I'd be unmotivated as well.
Winds of Winter will still come out, in my opinion.
Dream of Spring though.....
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianAs he's pointed out the show and the books are very different animals, sure the broadstrokes are going to be very similar but a lot of people have noted the biggest problem with the show is the pacing and rushing to fit things into shortened seasons in 7 and 8 and that Martin's writing would probably set the plot points up a lot better at least.
Yes. A lot of the basic plot points work fine. It's just the execution clearly should have been over multiple seasons.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I mean, I disagree with some of the conclusions as well.
But George R.R. Martin's reason for not finishing it are actually the opposite of what most fans think according to his blog. George says the problem is not that he's not writing, it's the fact that it's become a Kudzu Plot. He's said something akin to the effect that Winds of Winter is like 10x the size of a book it should be because he gets lost in writing side characters, worldbuilding, and descriptions. One interesting interview was that he said Penny became a major character before he realized no one cared and she was distracting from the main narrative.
Which is interesting because it implies TOO MUCH engagement with the subject.
