As good as a website as it is, fictionpress.net's traffic monumentally pales in comparison to fanfiction.net. This thread is to post any stories from the site that have gotten either extremely low or no views/reviews.

I'll start. Here's my latest: http://www.fictionpress.com/s/2811020/1/Tales_of_the_Waffle_House

Fun fact:

Fiction Press.com: 1,203,497 works

Fan Fiction.net: 2 million… and just the top 25 fandoms.

Nobody wants to read original works the days. If it's not fanfiction, why read it

I think it's partly because it's easier to enjoy badly-written works when you know the setting & characters. Original fiction doesn't have that crutch.

Oh, cool. I actually started to read your story a while back, Will, but, you know. Life. Gets in the way of all my online reading. >=

And hey, it’s Morven. I’ve spoken a bit with/read his stuff there, too. It’s always fun to see the same people pop up on different sites you frequent.

I have a fiction press account. Never used it. Prolly should. I'm typing up a script anyway. Might as well put it somewhere.

It can still get published if I put it up there, right?

[up][up]Cool! Small world. [up]While it's not really a substitute for actual publishing, fictionpress is a site where you can upload something and prove that it's yours should you ever had problems with copyright or plagarization.

Especially since judging by one pair of internet sites is silly, but off-topic.

Make a page in the appropriate namespace (ex. Literature.TheSagaOfAHR or whatever) and index it on Troper Works.

OK. So... Scripts.Thirteenth Sage and then I'd make it a blue link, and put it on the page? Just double checking.

As a rule (and there are always exceptions) I don't consider fan fiction to be in the same league as original fiction. Why? Because no matter what, the romance archive is always the biggest on fan fiction sites, and most of those stories are, for all intents and purposes, porn. And most of us don't consider porn True Art (again, always exceptions.)

As for my own work, it has two hits. Both by me when I needed the link to it. It's in the sig.

Perhaps the issue isn't that people don't want to read original fiction, it's that if they want it they'd rather just go to a bookstore and buy published stuff? You can get original fiction everywhere, but you can only get fanfiction on the internet.

Be not afraid...

I used to write awful, awful, awful poetry and post it on Fictionpress. Actually, I used to post it on FF.Net back when it still hosted original work, but it got transferred over when the sites split. God, I'm internet old.

Thanks for the all fish!
