It would be simultaneously sad and insane if it were true.
We're mostly elitist Marvel-loving-hating jerks.
Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity.Yes we are.
The fighting game community is united by our mutual hate of fighting games.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.To be precise, the people who think that will somehow cause them to be accepted. I mean, it's donating money to breast cancer research. How the hell would that placate any fighting-game No True Scotsman?
Eh, I consider Smash Bros to be a party fighter, but not really a real fighter. I mean, it's pretty much different from most other fighting games anyway. No one in the FGC considers Smash Bros a real fighter anyway. Their community doesn't help matters either.
On the other hand, Street Fighter II Super Turbo suddenly got a suprise donation, and is ahead of Melee! I'm fine with Skullgirls not being at EVO as long as Melee isn't. The Smash community is just so much worse than the FGC.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more! It's true that Smash doesn't fit the model of traditional fighters. It's all about vs-mode brawling, but the victory conditions are entirely different, if similar.
Actually, I think we could probably use more games with Smash's model. To the point that such games become their own sub-genre. True, the "blow someone clear off the screen" method of victory lends itself to more out-there characters than health-bars. Actually, probably because of that, I'd be very interested to see a Smash Bros-style fighter made of entirely new IP. See what sort of crazy charcters can be made for it.
We could call Street-Figher style fighters (ones with health bars) Traditional fighters, and Smash Bros style ones "Launch" fighters.
As to the Smash community at large wanting into EVO through thi to be more recognized as a "real fighter", I don't think that would even accomplish that goal. People would turn around and talk about how Smash fans had to "buy their way into EVO", unlike other fighters that got in. I don't agree with such a sentiment, but I guarantee that's how it'd go.
I have a message from another time...top 3 standings are now:
$34,228 SFII Super Turbo
$34,047 Super Smash Bros. Melee
$29,458 Skullgirls
I don't know whether to be excited or dumbfounded. Whoever wins, this is gonna be amazing.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Who made that? Seems kinda hateful.
Whoever wins, it's cool to see this much dough being raised, ulterior motives aside.
Kinda wish Brawl wasn't so low on the list. I undertand why, but still.
I have a message from another time...It's kinda hateful because the fighting game community can't stop sucking Super Turbo's dick. Ever.
"I like Guilty Gear-"
"SUPER TURBO IS BETTER!"
"Street Fighter 3 is pretty fun-"
"SUPER TURBO IS BETTER!"
"You know, I think Hyper Fighting may-"
"SUPER TURBO IS BETTER!"
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.@Scardol: Wow o.o
I'm a bit bitter. Not about Super Turbo winning, that's pretty awesome. I'm just bitter about how the Super Turbo "community" is a bunch of asshats who idolize the shit out of that game and then a few people who actually play Super Turbo.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Well time's up, and it looks like Melee's the winner. Ugh. Here's hoping the playerbase can behave themselves this time and not cause any stupid shit like hogging TV screens for hours that were meant for other tournaments.
Oh, is that so?

You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!Nope, not done yet. Deadline is at 11:59 pst.
Everybody's chargin' up their spirit bombs. I'm betting on Super Turbo, because someone has a fuckload of disposable income.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Yep, the old school fans just waited until the opportune moment. Well played, sirs, well played.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatSuper Turbo really why? Ugh <_<

Non-traditional fighter =/= real fighter. And not the entire FGC denies smash as a fighter, that's straight up bull.
Smash is sort of like Powerstone really, but 2D with more emphasis on platforming.

Eh, better Super Turbo than Smash Bros anyway.
By the way, don't get too excited about Super Turbo just yet. Naturally, the sudden 20k donation has caused an investigation.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!Am I the only person who hates fighting Fillia? Bloody mix-ups galore :(.
That's her schtick, right?
Kinda like Peacock has zoning, Cerebella has grabs, Painwheel has super-armor, and etc.
I have a message from another time...Well, I'm the only one who thinks Cerebella's ending should be the one "canon" ending if a sequel is made, we should form a gang.

Unless Skullgirls 2 has Ms. Fortune stop being a diamond, I'd rather that didn't happen. Permanently killing characters in a game with few characters is bad juju.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.If you have a team with a good invincible assist, you should be able to beat out her mixups. I recommend Napalm Pillar, Devil Horns, LK Hornet Bomber, or HP Updo if you use any of those characters.

Cerebella has actually gotten a lot of hate for that. Doesn't help that there was a tumblr kind of made Ms. Fortune a popular character before the game came out.

Freakin' sweet! Totally gonna buy that when it gets done.
I understand that "4 months from when we get started" is an entirely different thing than "4 months from now", but I can be patient.
