Yeah Skullgirls is equal opprotunity sex appeal, with beowulf dick bounces and Big band's...bagpipes.
Its just that there is currently a lack of important male characters that aren't scientists or the Mafia, so we dont get to see them yet
In news about the mobile game, next up is Painwheel's origin, so get ready for lots of trauma. There's also going to be nine new gold rank fighters to earn.
My answer would depend on which part of the game is sexist.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Gah, I really want to know more about this world of Skullgirls.
Maybe they'd have better luck showing more of it via comic books? Like from Dark Horse or Udon Comics?
On the character vote: I was fully in for Brain Drain, personally. Also Minette... and Aeon.

Surprise! Update is out already. Going through Painwheel's story now, will edit this in full once completed.
Story starts out with Painwheel already being outfitted with her new equipment. Valentine runs some tests on her much to PW's annoyance, who just wants to leave. Valentine is very firm though, insisting she is now destined to fight the Skullgirl to protect the people, but PW ain't having any of that. Valentine takes her on a test run to fight some scared Medici thugs, and she seems to be in painful daze, which made her angrier and more powerful. After trashing the place Valentine is pleased with the results, but PW insists on leaving, even after Valentine reveals it was the Medicis themselves who snapped her up and stole her away. Valentine lets her go as part of another test (Brain Drain was not happy with hat stunt) and PW makes her way to Maplecrest, where she's insulted and feared by anyone who sees her, but still finds peace in her home. She makes it back to her old house but hesitates when she realizes her family won't be able to recognize her. After trying to take off her mask, Brain Drain finally intervenes and forces her to return, her last thoughts before succumbing to her programming is apologizing to her parents...

Valentine's origin came out.
Quick question: I just bought Skullgirls and the 2nd Encore DLC on Steam, but now my library has an item called "Skullgirls Endless Beta". It's not the base game, as that's still there and it shows the DLC as "obtained".
So, what is it, then? Do I simply ignore it, or what?
Now that development is concluded, the differences are:
- Beta doesn't have story modes,
- Beta doesn't have Quick Match leaderboards,
- You can't unlock Big Band's secret palette in the Beta,
- Beta "has" all DLCs except Second Encore, meaning you can try out all characters...
- ...but mostly in single player modes or with a friend, since just about the whole online community plays lobbies and quickmatch in the retail version instead.
Thanks Seeing as the last registered update is from March, and that 2nd Encore is called "the final patch", I take it the beta isn't updated anymore, then?
Never say never... if something comes up which disrupts tournament balance, like an easily-repeatable infinite combo, they'll probably put out another patch, and the beta will be used to test-run it.
Is the game sexist? I mean, there's a lot of Fanservice mixed with Fan Disservice.
But other than that the game easily passes the Bechdel Test, the girls have their own goals and motives, the major players are mostly women and the important men - like the Medicis and Brain Drain - tend to be in the background. I'd almost go so far as to dub Skullgirls a Feminist Fantasy.
Yeah. Just having some fanservice isn't enough to call a work sexist to me. When I find a female-dominated fighter sexist, it's because all of its women feel less like people and more like soulless dolls designed with no goal other than to fulfill a guy's fantasy of a girlfriend. I'd say that Skullgirls girls feel like actual characters, and not waifu caricatures.
Let's talk Guest Characters.
Shut up, they're awesome.
OK, I'm joking, but if I could have guest characters for a future Skullgirls update or sequel I'd choose:
Ajna from Indivisible: Also made by the Skullgrills team, would fit in well and can call in assist characters from her own game. Would fit in pretty well already.
Shovel Knight: Is there any character more synonymous with Indy love? Already a guest in Indivisible, he would have an amazing move set and is just such a wonderful character. I would love to see him try and get the Skull Heart to save Shield Knight and just be super chivalrous to everyone, even Eliza.
Miriam from Bloodstained Ritual Of The Night: The BS team *snicker* already has a good relationship to the Sukllgirls team, so I can imagine this happening. Would fit in well, would love to see her as a sprite and she's probably gonna have cool moves. Please be good Bloodstained. Do not fail the waifu.
Any other thoughts on potential guests? Yes, I also want Brain Drain and Aeon etc, but let my fantasise for a bit.

Funnily enough, I danced around with the idea that if (IF!) we ever get Guest Fighters in a hypotheical Skullgirls update/sequel, I'd want one guest to be...
Yes, it's possible the likes of Tekken 7 and Injustice 2 might've spoiled me in the "unexpected guest fighters that no one ever sees coming" department, but don't act like you don't want to see Amy all of a sudden.

If anyone cares, I made a video of myself beating the final fight of Fukua's story mode.
And Spoilers, I guess:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vKe6VOIi90
My motivation was that other strategies I learned weren't working, so I modified one that I felt worked better.
Also, I want praise and head pats.
Filia's AI can't handle Fukua's QCB special throw which I always thought was hilarious.
also good job
It's in Russian though, so turn on the captions.
So... any headcanons on who defeated Marie and claimed the Skull Heart?

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Parasoul Orgin story is coming up next. Mini Parasoul and Queen Renoir and Queen Renoir's SG Form have been revealed, and OOOOOO BOY this looks like its going to be a doozy.
Is that Excalibur with her?
The theme with the Renoir's umbrella weapons is the Four Horsemen, so Nancy's seems to be Death, or Tod.
Awww yeah its showtime~!....Again!
On top of this, Ms.Fortune is going to be the next SG Mobile character, so look forward to a story about her soon.

They actually sexualized Beowulf as a sort of counter to that.
