Coming to that conclusion from the OP, does a lot more for that than the OP. Seriously, what a huge jump. As if Hip-Hop is this wonderful genre, none of the songs of which may be criticized. And it's not pervasive throughout the internet, it's pervasive throughout society. Mainstream hip-hop artists have given it a bad image. You are entirely over defensive.

Given that the OP is all but an outed troll, I really don't think I'm jumping to any conclusions. Of course, if you want to think that you're free to. I won't stop you. He's also yet to correct me on my statement, which I provided him full opportunity to do so earlier.

That and, the whole "rap is a bunch of wannabe gangsters shouting about hitting their girlfriends, lol" is a quite common attitude. If combating that is "over defensive" (it'd be "overly devensive", by the way) then sign me up.
