Okay, Cell always gets awesome fights in this comic. Hoping Vegeta doesn't go against yet another giant monster in his next fight...

Unless there's another saiyan tail he should be alright.

Well Cell might get a zenkai if he lives.

Eh. If he can come back from exploding himself, he can come back from this, so that Zenkai is pretty much guaranteed.

In retrospect though, Cell might have shot himself in the foot by dicking around so much.

I honestly though he could win this too.

He's got 30 seconds to regenerate into something that at least looks alive. I doubt this is the end of the fight but hey.

How long did it take for him to reform after he blew up in the series?

Tangentially related: Could Cell just keep getting more and more powerful by constantly tearing his head off his body and regenerating thus granting him a zenkai? Has he powerleveled himself like this before? And is there a limit to how strong he can get? Can he just keep on almost-suiciding until he's as strong as SSJ 3 Vejito?

It doesn't work if it's knowingly self-inflicted, as Vegeta said to Krillin in the Namek arc. Cell's self-destruction only gave him a boost because he didn't know he would survive.

I imagine it's like how it's nearly impossible to tickle yourself on purpose. You just physically can't catch yourself off-guard.

Also, there's a limit to how many Zenkais one can get, which is why Sayians don't abuse the mechanic after Namek.

I don't think a limit was ever mentioned. I thought they just couldn't get them after getting Super Saiyan.

No limit is ever mentioned. I'm pretty sure the reason they dno't 'abuse' zenkai is because it would just be boring and creepy to have a manga where Vegeta and Goku 'train' by blasting holes into each others repeatedly before eating a senzu bean.

I don't think it's quite that they don't get Zenkais after becoming Super Saiyan.

Goten and Trunks are really strong mainly because, as kids, they would beat each other half to death as Super Saiyans.

I think it's just that. Zenkais after Namek didn't give as good returns anymore.

That makes sense. Just increase your base power level so the SSJ power-up is even stronger without having to almost kill yourself.

Plus if I'm not mistaken it takes a while to make senzu beans and there usually aren't many.

There USED to be bags upon bags of them, but then Yajirobe moved into Korin's tower and started eating them all.

It is mentioned after Namek that they either became small, insufficient, or simply did not happen. The Japanese could mean any of these, it's not clear.

I looked up Hirudegarn on the wiki. Completely forgot that he even had another form. Probably cause I only saw the movie once, ages ago and apart from that I only remember him from Budokai Tenkaichi 2 where he only has 1 form (and that's been a few years now, too).

But man, his current form looks so much more badass than that golden bug. I get that gold is associated with power because super saiyan, but it just looks way less intimidating and more generic.

Also, we already have a badass cicada-themed villain in this series.

I do hope it will be explained how Cell managed to do this, though.
