[up]I can't conform or deny if that's actually true, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it is.

I feel the same way about the Homestar Runner Wiki. A surealist cartoon dedscribed in complete serious business. Awesome.

I've always found this funny.

Insertion of the trochaic word fucking can also be used as an exercise for diagnosing the cadence of an English-language word. This is the use of "fuck" or more specifically "fucking" as an infix, or more properly, a tmesis (see expletive infixation). For example, the word in-fucking-credible sounds acceptable to the English ear, and is in fairly common use, while incred-fucking-ible would sound very clumsy (though, depending on the context, this might be perceived as a humorous improvisation of the word). "Absofuckinglutely" and "motherfucking" are also common uses of "fuck" as an affix.

Sophisticated as Hell at its finest.

I remember that at one time on the page for MS Paint Adventures, the particularly verbose paragraph about Homestuck detailing the plot and advancements in the author's style ended with the sentence "Also Nicholas Cage."

Sadly, it has been removed at this point, but it was funny when it lasted.

edit: Also, on the paragraph for S Ba HJ,

I happened to look up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the other day. I don't know why this made me laugh so much, but...

The turtles are also well known for their use of idiomatic expressions characteristic of the surfer lingo of the time, especially by Michelangelo. Words and phrases, such as "bummer," "dude," "bogus," "radical," "far-out," "tubuloso," "bodacious," and possibly the most recognized, "cowabunga."

I stumbled across this article, and it was quite possibly the first time I've laughed at a wikipedia article. The best bit?

[A Baptist Preacher] proposed based on his interpretations of the prophecies in the book of Daniel (bible verse snipped), that Jesus Christ would return to the earth during the year 1844. A more specific date, that of October 22, 1844, was preached by Samuel S. Snow. Although thousands of followers, some of whom had given away all of their possessions, waited expectantly, Jesus did not appear as expected on the appointed day and as a result October 22, 1844, became known as the Great Disappointment.

Found this in Wikipedia's article about wands.

Given their various symbolic and other associations, wands are suitable pervertibles, especially for role play.

That was... not expected.

[up][up] Awesome.

From the article on A Shoggoth On The Roof ;

The action is set in the fictional town of Arkham, Massachusetts. The action opens in a manner reminiscent of Fiddler, with a shoggoth on the roof of the Miskatonic library building. Armitage addresses the audience, speaking of all the strange things in Arkham and its horrific history. He then explains how a shoggoth can stay up on "such a pointed roof": Tentacles! ("Tentacles")

lol.

EDIT:

The scene then changes to Prudence and Herbert's wedding, with almost everyone in the town present. Carter and Warren turn up, and head to the buffet table. Asenath and the head cultist then turn up, and they try to explain to Armitage how they're part of the same community. ("Arkham, Dunwich - second reprise") The song is interrupted by Wilbur Whateley, who is enraged at both being denied Prudence and at not being invited to the wedding. He vows revenge, and reads an incantation from the Necronomicon to summon Cthulhu, who appears behind the library and crushes many of the villagers. He then eats Wilbur, and demands to know what's going on. ("Do You Fear Me?") Cthulhu goes on a rampage, destroying the university and killing the entire cast. He then departs, and Herbert West uses his reanimating formula to return himself to life, as well as the rest of the cast. They discuss what to do, now that the Great Old Ones have returned. Armitage explains that no matter what the Old Ones do, they can't kill knowledge, and that knowledge is the only weapon against them. ("Miskatonic")

Externally, Daleks normally resemble human-sized salt and pepper shakers[2] with a single mechanical eyestalk mounted on a rotating dome, an exterminator arm containing an energy weapon (or "death ray") and a telescopic manipulator arm which is usually tipped by an appendage resembling a sink plunger. Daleks have been seen to be able to use their plungers to interface with technology,[1] crush a man's skull by suction,[1] measure the intelligence of a subject,[10] and extract information from a man's mind.[11] Dalek casings are made of a bonded polycarbide material dubbed "dalekanium" by a member of the human resistance in The Dalek Invasion of Earth and by the Cult of Skaro in "Daleks in Manhattan".[10][12]

The "salt and pepper shakers" description made me laugh.
