I'm gonna quote some things I said about the circles that were going around in that thread in this post:
I've read every post in this thread, by the way, as well as more or less all the threads that have any relevance to this matter. I can do that even though sometimes there are a dozen pages with 0 new content. I'm a mod and I know I have to put in the effort.
Why don't we make an announcement? Previous experience is that people see it, panic, don't bother to read everything they're pointed to and come to the thread and complain. They get paranoid and bitchy and don't add to the conversation. This thread has more than 50 pages already, and the same points have been made time and time again. It's going in circles. Everything in this thread could be condensed to 5 pages or less if all instances of repetition were removed. But we're OK with having it like this.

And if we got another 50 pages if 48 hours, you know what? I'd still have to read it. Every post. Just in case there's something important in there. I'd be reading the same pages over and over and over again, with different usernames and avatars saying exactly the same things, just as I've been doing now for 50 pages.
Have some empathy. You really wanna subject me to that?
I'm sorry that this turned into such a rant. I hope I made my point, though. If you think that my tone here is bitching, you're right, it is. But that's because I just read once again the same discussion I've seen in this thread at least 5 times before, but this time it was an expanded, multi-page version.
Note that after I made this post, we had some discussion and then the same people went on and had more or less the same conversation that had already been answered just prior to this post of mine. I mean, even the same people are doing it over and over again, presumably without actually intending to pointlessly inflate the thread with redundancy.
