Still trying to figure out what people mean by NME.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.
NME = New Movie Evangelion, which is a literal translation of the project's official nonmeclature Shin Gekijouban Evangelion. I still prefer Rebuild though, as it's catchier, heh.
Rebuild is a much better name.
Also isn't there some rapper called NME? *looks on Wikipedia* Nope, must've been my imagination.

Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone. You got it backwards, it's not Shin Gekijouban Evangelion, it's Evangelion Shin Gekijouban.
Because Shin Gekijouban Evangelion would be "New Movie Edition Evangelion"
NO TREE FOR ME (ALSO LOVES HER BOYFRIEND)I may be completely wrong here but I have a feeling that Shinji and Rei will be out of most of the action of 3.0 (Thank you, Kaworu) and we will contently cut to them blabbing on about philosophy while they are stuck in Unit-01.
I certainly hope so- taking those two out of the action will allow characters who haven't gotten quite enough focus a chance to do things- and that's just about everyone except maybe Gendo.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."Exclusively. It focuses on their personal lives and histories, and then in the last five minutes there's an Angel attack and Maya devises a plan to send Asuka into space to fight it. The movie ends with Aoba being inducted into SEELE and Hyuga discovering he can pilot Unit 08 just as Aoba throws the MP Evas at him.
"Yes, I'm rather pedantic about language. You could call me an anal linguist." (Retentive, of course.)AND THEY BRING BACK BLACK HYUGA?
NO TREE FOR ME (ALSO LOVES HER BOYFRIEND)I'm mainly hoping for two things in 3.0: Mari proving herself as a true Evangelion character — by which I mean revealing a sufficiently traumatic backstory and a few DSM IV entries — and Arael showing up in some form.
...actually, now that I think about it, they could do both at once. Hallelujah!

I doubt Arael will appear in 3.0.
In fact, I think Final will be all new Angels.
. . .
OR MAYBE ISRAFEL
ISRAFEL WAS COOL MAN
DANCING EVAS IN HD MAN
THAT'D BE SO COOL
NO TREE FOR ME (ALSO LOVES HER BOYFRIEND)Kaworu in a disco-themed plugsuit leading the MP Evas in his Mark. 06 against the heros in a coordinated dance attack. I wish I could draw so I could illustrate that.
"Yes, I'm rather pedantic about language. You could call me an anal linguist." (Retentive, of course.)Okay, a question about the Vatican Treaty; each nation can only have three EV As, correct? So, does that mean there are nine EV As, or is Japan the only one who has three? It's always confused me; also, does this mean Asia is a single country? As in, it has become a single sovereign state?
It's your God, they're your rules, you go to hell." - Mark TwainThree active Evas. A country could have 10 Evas in your possession for all they care, but it must have all but three of them either frozen in that super-bakelite stuff or in "non-operable" condition (e.g. too damaged, dismantled) at any given time.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. That's why when Unit-03 came to Japan, they had to put Unit-02 in storage.
NO TREE FOR ME (ALSO LOVES HER BOYFRIEND)Heh, and we all know how that turned out.
Note to self, NEVER buy U.S. made Evas.
Probably cheaped out with Chinese made parts too.
NO TREE FOR ME (ALSO LOVES HER BOYFRIEND)Alright, thanks for clarifying that.
So, does that mean there are other European EV As? I remember a line by Ritsuko saying "Unit-02 is just ON LOAN from Euro" - Unit-05 detonated. So there should, technically, be one more Euro EVA and one more American EVA (Unit-04 and 03).
Sorry if these are stupid questions; they've just been bugging me, and I'm a relatively new fan.
It's your God, they're your rules, you go to hell." - Mark TwainWell the only new Evangelion are Evangelion Mark.06 and Evangelion Unit-08.
(No idea what happened with Unit-07)
NO TREE FOR ME (ALSO LOVES HER BOYFRIEND)Anyone else think Rebuild should get it's own character page as opposed to piggybacking off of the series'? I think the characters' are different enough, or will at least grow to be different enough, that it would be easier to define them this way.

I don't think it is necessary. Asuka's character sheet neatly splitted NGE and Rebuild tropes, similar things can be done with other characters without need to make new character page.
My President is Funny Valentine. So I was thinking about how Rei's fight against the Tenth Angel in Rebuild had many parallels to her fight against Armisael in NGE, which, if you recall, (spoilers) resulted in her dying in a large explosion that annihilated a lot of Tokyo-3. I was also recalling that she was originally scripted (See Evangelion 2.0 Complete Records Collection, which can be found by Googling) to die as in the original and it was not until late in the script rewritings that she was eventually given her new fate.
What occurs to me now - recalling the parallels with a fatal fight and original scripting for death for Rei in 2.0 - is that the trailer for 3.0, featuring Asuka in space shooting something features her with the Battle Research Department's Positron Rifle, shooting at something.
In the original, she fires this thing against Arael to little effect, resulting in her Mind Rape, inability to pilot and crippling depression.
Keeping the Rei situation in mind, I wonder if her fighting another orbiting Angel with the Positron Rifle will go the same way as in the original, or whether her being in space and the whole breaking out of everything-is-shit that was a theme of the last movie will hint a better outcome this time? And she has already had one major traumatising event, though the previews do seem to show her getting over it fairly quickly.

As with all things, it's still wait and see at this point. We don't even have leaked angel designs to work with, so we're not sure if it's Arael that Asuka is fighting at all in this one.
I suspect though that a good bit of the movie will focus on getting Rei and Shinji out of Unit-01. At this point, I'm not sure if anything else will be able to stop Kaworu and EVA-07 going into Terminal Dogma, unless those extra teen-sized silhouettes will be new pilots on NERV-Japan's side (not likely).
Central Dogma is where the Mission Control operate. It's Terminal Dogma that is "restriced access" and where no Angel should be allowed into.
