And I didn't know until it was pointed out to me just now that this manuscript exists.

This makes the comic even funnier.

Do roleplaying manuals written in fictional languages actually exist?

I'd bet the official Star Trek RPG has a version written in Klingon.

Take a look at this and tell me xkcd doesn't rule the internet.

I guess it is.

I want to do an experiment. I want to find an xkcd fan who hasn't read the latest comic yet. I'll tell him the joke, and see if they think the pun is funny when they don't know Randall came up with it.

Eh, I'm a fan of the comic and I thought that one was only mouth-twitch worthy.

Anyway, this is the kind of joke that wouldn't work at all out loud. I didn't find it incredibly hilarious written down either, but even if I thought it was the best xkcd EVAR, I probably wouldn't have laughed if someone told me it out loud.

Edit: Note that it could be funny to someone involved in...whatever field of math or science this comic is about. But to most people, even nerdy ones like me, they just wouldn't be thinking the right way to get the pun without thinking about it.

Fine, then, I'd write it down.

I did laugh out loud. So Yeah. That may go down as one of the worst puns of all time.

Well I love a good pun. I know if I heard the joke an a group of 6+ people I'd laugh, but other people wouldn't. Most people don't like puns that much.

Fell flat for me. I guess all this proves is that people's senses of humor differ, and maybe that XKCD's starting to fall back on questionable puns.

If I had to come up with a joke every other day I'd probably use puns occasionally.

This comic was a groaner, and I support Made Of Meat's experiment. I'd volunteer but I'm not sure how that would work.

I agree. I didn't even know that tying a cherry stem with your tongue was supposed to be sexy, so it didn't make much sense until a trip to Echochamber...

I understood the cherry stem reference, but only found the joke as a whole mildly amusing.
