As a Catholic, I enjoy the fact that the Church has officially accepted evolution as part of the Creator's toolkit for over half a century, and didn't really make a big deal of it prior to then. Personally, I believe that there's a good chance that things got nudged along, but that it's evident that other aspects evolved. It's that central issue of how omnipotence and omniscience are very hard to reconcile with Free Will.
Honestly, I don't get why someone would believe in Creationism at all.
Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about.Once upon a time, it made more sense with the facts available. Or it was a tale told in metaphors that somewhere along the way people forgot not to take literally.
Fresh-eyed movie blogI believe there may be a thread for discussing Christianity and it's beliefs.
This one certainly isn't it, however.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpThe interesting thing is that as you increase the time, weather forecast becomes less and less accurate. Then on the billion-level scale, it suddenly becomes more accurate.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.I think there was a bit of a missed opportunity for some jokes on the hundred-year and thousand-year scale.
Direct all enquiries to Jamie B GoodThe weather doesn't change all that much over a hundred years (the climate is a different story). It would just be a repeat of the alien joke.
Thinking about it, in some ways it only seems more accurate because we've decreased the absolute level of accuracy required (which in turn is because of the magnitude of the changes). I mean, in a five-day forecast we want something accurate to a couple of degrees, but in the 5-billion year forecast we're just hoping for something in the right order of magnitude. (That's probably not even the same relative level of accuracy, for that matter.)
Huh. I guess that one is instantly hilarious to American readers, but the fact that I had to use explainxkcd to understand what it was supposed to be about dulled its impact for me. But yeah, the paradox is fun otherwise.
Whatever your favourite work is, there is a Vocal Minority that considers it the Worst. Whatever. Ever!.Heh. I wonder if "impersonating a Supreme Court justice on the bench" is an actual crime anywhere in our legal code. It would probably fall under more generic laws like trespass.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"The alt-text is hilarious.
Was it Black Hat Man or White Beret Guy? XD
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.More likely the latter.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Black Hat has the compelling but unconvincing argument, while it's Beret Guy that's impersonating a justice of the Supreme Court.
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.My mind immediately went to Black Hat Guy. White Beret Guy is more the type to wander in and start making small talk with the justices in the middle of a court case, but he wouldn't know the names of everyone on the Supreme Court or try to make any kind of argument.
I think White Beret Guy would be the kind of person to report the results of ten persons voting while knowing full well that only 9 should be voting and personally knowing them.

Whatever your favourite work is, there is a Vocal Minority that considers it the Worst. Whatever. Ever!.If White Beret Guy was a real person, he'd be my best friend. :)

EDIT: While exploring, I found a character singing this:
Spider-plan
Spider-canal
Spider-Panama
Gates let in
Spider boats
Flood the locks
Spiders float
LOOK OUT!
Spiders in both oceans

The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.
Birds are 7 pairs no matter their kosher status.(if it even applies)
The rest of the animals are dependent on said status..
I'm baaaaaaack
