Who said it was an Oafan cache, and not simply one left over from a past cycle they had found but had no use for so left alone?

So now we know how he ended up here.

This reminds me of the scene with Grunt in Mass Effect 3 : Citadel.

Well that answers one question

What the Obenn got a hold of wasn't ships, fabbers or any kind of tech, but rather a huge stock pile of PTU's they could use to build stuff far in excess of what they should have been able to.

Oh we (and Petey) know what accounts for those. Even after the Oafans were gone.

You mean the Paan'uri? Pretty sure they're common knowledge at this point. The UNS definitely knows about them (their battleplates have special protocols for dealing with them), and I can't imagine why the scientists of the Neoafan Freehold wouldn't know about them.

Stars blowing up bit may not be. Hell, it's pretty logical to try contain it to lessen the panic over the dark matter menace.

Ah, star lifting. Always a fun concept.

I like that "inhale" works well with the Oafan tendency for breath/wind-based metaphors.

Makes me wonder when Gasca turned from "Captain Big Gun" into a palaeontologist/historian.

Huh, something strange - that Esspererin doesn't look especially small.

It's going to turn out that that was an entire colony of Esspererin or something, I'm sure.

@3039: Unless that's not the Esspererin we're seeing, but a suit of some kind to allow them to interact with comparatively larger sapients (think a smaller version of human->Humongous Mecha).

^^ That would be an amazing concept, a non-violent interaction of sapient species with such a huge size difference that they have to construct giant mechas just to reach up to the other's waist. Probably not the case though.

Clausewitz's quote "War is politics by other means" still holds true even a millennium from now.

I'm digging the snarky author's note today. Yup, those people are definitely not available for comment.

So, several thousands teracreds is the price.

As a reminder, the attorney drones bounty score was up to 2 teracreds, so that's a lot of cash.

Hmm, so one attorney drone is worth 2000 kilocreds (2 million credits). Sounds expensive, but I guess they're supposed to be good at their job.

Anyways, I can only assume that Murtaugh is planning to skip out on that bill somehow, in a way that the Esperin are still obligated to fulfill their end. She's the only one who's liable, so the company and the UNS get access for free.
