Galactiv Civilization II: Oh, 2:00 already?

Sid Meiers Alpha Centauri: OK, so I'm going for the Diplomatic victory, and I think I might be able to win within midnight. <time passes> Ah, no. It appears I need more time to gather myself. <time passes> OK, so now Diedre decleared war and doesn't want to be part of my Planet State, and I've reduced all the other states to weaksauce wimps, so I'll have to take down Deidre myself. At least I have Drop Troopers and effective assault troops. <land war> OK, so apparently Deidre has very many naval bases, which means I have to build an entire fleet... <inconclusive naval war> Oh, it's 3:30 already?

For me, it was Okami. Look at all those poor, shriveled trees. A quick mental circle with the Celestial Brush and it's all better!...Wait, that doesn't work in real life...

Ever had a little voice inside you say "Not enough Time Units!" while you're hurrying to get somewhere wihtout being late? (Raises hand)

If there is anyone awake in the house, the PS 3 will generally be on, and Final Fantasy 12 will be on it. Yes, FF 12 is a PS 2 game but I run it on the PS 3 because I lost my memory card.

Somewhat infuriatingly, so does my brother, despite him having his own copy of the game and his own memory cards.

I played Skies Of Arcadia for 24 hours straight one summer.

It was joyous and freaking kickass. Sleep deprivation makes the Dark Rift INSANELY FUCKING CREEPY, though.

I've never played anything for a full day straight, but any game with significant freedom will ensnare me for hours. I could spend a LONG time just running around North Korea, Venezuela, Paradise City, Pacific City, Sauria, etc. etc. Bejeweled also seems to get me.

I am a proud member of the Western Federation's Anti-Japan Media Task Force. My work is very important.

After Devil May Cry 3, all the super modes in all videogames are a "Devil Trigger". Even in Rock Band. Also I got the battle songs stuck in my heTHE FLINCH IN YOUR EYES CALLS YOUR BLUFF FEEL FREE TO DIE IF YOU HAD ENOUGH.

Then I played 4 and while some design decisions were just plain bad, I again I had the baTHE TIME HAS COME AND SO HAVE I.

After playing P4, I found myself devoting perhaps a bit too much time to trying to figure out what my persona would be.

Too many.

Tetris Attack I played enough to see the blocks fall when I closed my eyes, which is the common example.

A few of the Final Fantasy games I played for excessive amounts of time. I would have played VI (then III) 24 hours straight if I wasn't 10 and born of parents who forced me to actually go to bed and sleep. But I did play for three days only stopping for bathroom breaks and meals. X-2 was the first I played without rest. XII was the second.

Metroid Prime would mess me up - around the time I'd played for hours straight for several days and found the first cloaked enemies, I had to force myself to sleep because I started getting used to looking at everything as if a cloaked space pirate would come flying out of the walls at me.

Chalk me up as one of those people who starts seeing note charts after playing too much Guitar Hero or Rock Band. And the optical illusion that everything seems to be moving upwards.

Also, Devil Survivor. I keep looking at D Ss and thinking "that's definitely a modified COMP" before I get a chance to catch myself.

It's a little scary how far my obsessions go, guys. Send help.

Pretty much all the Mario Kart games have done this to me. They are among the few I ever devoted myself to completely annihilating.

Also, Starfox 64. I would not rest until I had EVERY MEDAL and had seen EVERY secret!

Civ 4 has kept me up until 6 am on several occaisions. When I have work at 8.

Also *sigh* I'm at work posting this...

Prototype - rushed through the whole game in about two days because it was so fun. Also, Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare online gets very addictive if you play it enough.

Similar to Latw, Gal Civ 2. I got an Xfire account a couple weeks ago and like 70% of the time I spend gaming so far has been on Gal Civ 2.

Braid. Holy shit, Braid.

I had to literally force myself to step away from the computer a couple of times. As in "physically push myself away from my computer desk with my hands".

SimCity 2000. I lost sleep over that. And I had no idea how to play it properly.

I haven't had the Tetris Effect in quite a while.

Weird, because my genre of choice is MMORPG, known for its addictiveness.

Probably because despite that, they always find a way to make me not want to play until tomorrow.

Also, melatonin.

I once played so much Battle For Wesnoth that when I looked up at my bumpy ceiling (like this), all I could see were hexagons. I swear.

Russia can't come up with a trope for this situation? It's a sign of the apocalypse!

The first time I played Guitar Hero which, naturally, went on for the better part of my entire day, I couldn't sleep at night because my fingers were twitching uncontrollably in the exact positions the fret buttons were in.

For an older example, when I was still working on Super Mario 64, whenever I went outside I thought I saw floating red coins over the tops of trees.

And another Okami example here: when I spilled a glass of water, I mentally attempted to fix things by drawing a line from the puddle to the emptied glass.

Whenever I play a fighting game—any fighting game—if I'm not trying to Psych Burst I'm trying to summon a giant pink whale across the screen. Whether it works or not.

For just games I lose time and sleep and eating over, the list is too long. I've been playing video games since I could move my thumbs.
