Being angry about something has basically become a status symbol, and it's devaluing the causes that are actually worth being angry about.
I'm gonna print that and frame it on my wall.
People are very sensitive about trigger warnings existing even though they are generally pretty easy to ignore which is weird.
People are sensitive about a lot of things that don't impact their life in any way.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Eugh. I know like half the comic is a detailed showcase of Shive's repressed fetishes, but that Diane transformation is a bit over the line. Also, she desires Nanase's approval?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.... Really, Mousa?
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987That transformation? Over the Line? Have you read the earlier Q&As? And N Ps?
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.I'm more of a hex guy, personally.
SINS OF MY ANCESTORS
What puzzles me isn't the transformation (Dan's done much weirder and arguably squickier stuff in the Sketchbooks, like the four-breasted Nanase and Tedd). Rather, it's how pleased Diane is with it. I mean yeah, she got a bigger bust size out of it, but she also looks like a fennec fox.
Eh, whatev. It's an out-of-continuity strip.
Didn't he do the four boob thing specifically to prove how weird it looked?
Pretty much. He mentioned in a commentary that he'd tried it in sketches, but found it gross and weird, and people tweeted him that, well, now they had to see it.
Most thought it was not that weird, but also not that sexy.

Rhymes with "Protracted."Why wouldn't Diane be excited about being turned into a fennec fox? The dues are adorable.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.@23156 Diane's interest in Nanase been there from the beginning. In fact, Diane's first appearance was trying to get Nanase to join her clique. It hasn't come up much of late because her focus has shifted more towards Elliot of late, but it's always been there.
Also, that bit about how Tedd is actually something so rare that it hasn't been seen in maybe a millennium or so is, well... just classic Shive, really. We get it, your author avatar is super special. Get on with it.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.A main character is generally a main character for a reason.
Yeah, I know. But Tedd gets Character Shilling a lot, way more than his supposed specialness has actually borne out. Especially as the comic has turned more towards magic fantasy than science fiction fantasy, and thus Tedd's actual talents have been decreasingly featured.
It's kind of weird in that regard. The early comic made it clear that Tedd was an ahead-of-his-time genius extremely early on (being able to make the TF gun - which nobody else apparently could do - when he was hitting puberty), but it hardly ever really pushed it. It was acknowledged, but quickly, mostly as a Hand Wave to get to the meat of the comic (whether it be a joke or advancing the story). But as Tedd did less, he was hyped more. At this point, I'm half-expecting Tedd to simply watch all his friends fight off Lord Tedd for him in the final arc, doing nothing while everyone else proclaims him to be the literal Center Of The Universe.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I find it weird that focus is being put on him being an anti-magic force.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I was going to make the obligatory joke about how there shouldn't be any f*cking cursing in this thread but
is way funnier so I'm just gonna let Elfive have this one.
That's because Tedd was basically the sidekick in the early days of the comic. Elliot was the main character and the rest were his supporting cast. As such, Tedd's genius served the purpose of advancing the plot.
This changed after Sister. The comic opened up into more of an Ensemble Cast with more and more stories either not being directly about Elliot or not even featuring him at all. This coupled with the genre switch from scifi to fantasy also had awkward results for Elliot who had to transition from Shonen Action Hero to...whatever he is now. Romantic Comedy Superman?

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.My gender identity is "feminist". I try to respect other people's right to gender themselves as they see fit and try not to be a TERF, but I also want to tear down the entire foundation upon which gender identity stands so that people are comfortable engaging in activities and lifestyles without having to pick a side over it. <.< So sometimes I screw up and come off disrespectful. I'm sorry about that.
For me, I watched a Tinker Bell movie last night. It was about a mythical beast mistaken for legendary monster. It was pretty cool and featured a conflict resolved through methods other than smiting the bad guy. I'll probably watch more of them, and would love it if other guys wouldn't immediately go, "What? That's a girl movie."
There shouldn't be girl movies and guy movies. Just...movies.
