This is the thread for discussion of The Order of the Stick plot, characters, etc. We have a separate thread for discussing game rules and mechanics. Excessive rules discussions here may be thumped as off-topic.

...Wouldn't those examples be governed by CON, anyway? Or does the Bo GS boost that too?
Yes, I assume they'd be CON-based. I just meant that I don't see why very high STR can't enable the same kinds of logic-defying achievements as very high CON. We already know from the storm sequence that Roy is, at minimum, considerably stronger than any two average people.
Well, your average Frost Giant has 29 strength. How much would a fighter like Roy reasonably have at this level?
That joke with the female giant... it would be a good joke and pretty understandable in itself, if we are assuming a mostly-male army, as usual in real life. However, seeing that about half of the giants we've seen are female, it's kind of weird.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.
The latest Class and Level Geekery thread on the gititp forum suggests his strength is at least 24, maybe higher.
He has a belt of giant strength. That would presumably put him at a strength comparable to a giant's.
Is that with or without the belt?
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.There are different kinds of giants. Hill giants are like cavemen and have 25 Strength, while Storm giants are like Greek gods and have 39 Strength. Frost giants are somewhere in between.
The belt would confer either a +4 or a +6 strength bonus. The other thread assumes Roy': base strength is 20~, which is quite possible depending on his starting strength and how he distributed his levelup points.
For me it's more a question of proficiency than one of having the strength to lift the thing (like, gnomes have disadvantage when using human-sized "heavy" weapons) — but we should probably discuss this kind of thing on the other thread.

That face (you know the one) looks like Elan made in his pants.
My favorite part was Roy parrying that big-ass axe with a dinky cutlass.
Pretty impressive how the cutlass is clearly several feet away from him while he's being knocked through the air, but ends up within reach of where he lands. Too bad his ancestral weapon doesn't have that property. :P
What matters in this life is much more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win, too. - F. Rogers.Do weapons in D&D break?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.(Usually) only by deliberate action. Except for house rules, you have to forgo damaging the opponent to break their weapons.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Hilariously, there's a spell for healing broken limbs but no rules for breaking limbs.

I have a message from another time...There used to be, way back in 2E.
...but this is a discussion for another thread.
This Space Intentionally Left Blank.Vorpal weapons still exist in 3E, but since decapitation is fatal to most creatures, regenerate becomes... inefficient, shall we say. As a matter of fact, it's technically useless, since it only works on living creatures, and a corpse is not a living creature. Raise dead doesn't work on someone who's decapitated, and resurrection restores all lost body parts anyway.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Per the d20 SRD, magic items page, Vorpal entry: "[...] Most other creatures, however, die when their heads are cut off."

The sword slid through his triceratops hole, so the amount of damage it actually did was minimal.
