This reminds me of that old Police Quest bit of immediately flattening you with a car if you don't look both ways when crossing a street.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Because unless Wampa's have completely different physiology (and they look very Mammal :P) they must create warmth in order to support their metabolism. This warmth will radiate outward. Fun Fact: Fur is not to create warmth but to prevent body heat leaving the body.
And among the cold snow, even the small heat radiation going through the fur would be noted.
"You can reply to this Message!"Thermal or motion sensors also won't work if they're not looking in the direction the wampa is coming from.
Neither do eyeballs.
I think there’s a global conspiracy to see who can get the most clicks on the worst liesIt's a large, snow-adapted predator. It's supposed to be hard to detect prior to attacking. Which is not to say that technology at the level of that in the Star Wars universe shouldn't be able to do so, but as noted it has to be operating and looking in the proper direction.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I never realized before how much that critter looks like Abominable from Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer
Trump delenda estThis all assumes your equipment is in good functional order and not sabotaged by a spy.
A creature with a significantly thick coat of fur will at least be hard to detect on infrared; the temperature gradient across the fur layer will be such that the outside is near the temperature of the snow. It'd still probably be findable with a detailed IR scan, but that's precisely what he doesn't have time for.

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Rather astonishing for Jim to have matured into a quality roleplayer.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"So, was General Rieekan really the Waldorf Salad Guy?
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatSo the mole in the Rebels' midst is still a thing that's happening.
Or still a thing that they think is happening.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Well, Leia would be too obvious I suppose. As would Han. Luke, mayhaps?
If there is a mole and it turns out to be Sally of all people, I don't think I'd be able to stop smiling.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I've got money on there being no Mole, and Vader is just force-mind reading his children's minds.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver! The mole is a shape-shifting Boba Fett.
Because the GM just loves taking the players' mistakes and making them the catalysts of major disasters.
Interesting way to note how the actors could actually ACT in Empire.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatThe acting in Episode V was vastly improved from IV, mainly because it was upgraded from a pure heroic fantasy action film to a character-driven drama... and because Lucas didn't write the script.
I do like how they changed the Well, Excuse Me, Princess! relationship between Han and Leia into one where they're arguing about Luke being a paranoid conspiracy theorist.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Han has the perfect expression for sarcasm in the last panel.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenHan has the perfect expression for ANYTHING at this point. XP
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Harrison Ford can see the future, knew that the Star Wars movies would be subjected to a screencap comic, and thus threw in as many awesome faces into the movies as he could.
Harrison Ford's face is just awesome.
ophelia, you're breaking my heart
By setting a filter to how big the motion has to be. Easy tech — it's already in use — a bog-standard homeowner-level motion detector currently won't trigger for blowing snow or dust or leaves. It isn't made to that fine of a sensitivity.
