Got added to Tarvek's mop bucket?
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettAnd on the horizon, Gil!
If it moves, eat it. If it doesn't move, kick it—then eat it!There's a difference between studying someone who survived an iron bar through their frontal lobe (happened) and some who had an accident wound up disabling their emotions by disabling/detaching the parts of their brain that handled such (also happened), and deliberately damaging someone's brain until you get the results you are seeking. The second hits 20th century human experiments territory.
(The guy who had his emotions shut down? His accident happened in the 1970s. He'd been a savvy businessman before that, rock star, quite wealthy.
He lost the ability to weigh decisions. To understand the ranking of importance. To prioritize. Options for a million-dollar deal had the same importance as picking a sandwich for lunch.)
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettReally, Klaus was just executing Othar in a way that would give him valuable experimental data. It's a very Klaus thing to do. Of course, then he let Othar escape so that he could have fun fighting him over the airship, so it's kinda hard to pin down the morality of his actions.
There was this other idea I had on the moments when coffee is lacking in the system and that the noggin just keeps on spouting something, based on the lil comment on the Sharktooth side story:
What we saw in the aftermath as the Trilobite with Wings is not a symbol of Agatha marrying Gil nor Tarvek but something else. That else is the fact that in the end Agatha won't take any of them but thanks to the adventures and all there is an alliance of the three families. This means that in the setup each is on their own but cooperating: Agatha takes the home to keep in control but goes onto whatever Sparky adventure is needed and loans the Jagers to Gil for any great Hat hunts. Tarvek controls all the Noble Family wrestling, and cutting some of his family tree to do the world a favor. And it is easier to just note that the symbol will have some particular etchings which weren't on sight because the size of the engraving is that small only a jeweler or DK can see it. For added irony for Tarvek, he will be stuck doing what Klaus hated: send in the army (and if very sparky then ask Gil) then the bureaucrats with mops. It is going to be the irony and Gil will have time to actually work on his own stuff. At the end the mudslinging towards Tarvek will be from Tweedle and co.
Well here goes nothingNope, DK won't permit it. Agatha has to marry either one of those two or someone suitable because THERE MUST BE MORE HETERODYNES and it won't let anything stand in its way . . . because while obedient it has no scruples about manipulating her.
If it moves, eat it. If it doesn't move, kick it—then eat it!Quoting Moloch: Freaky Girl is all yours.
It doesn't means that she cannot just pull what was done in Narbonic to just make Gil and Tarvek do the pregnancy stuff. And yet it wouldn't be far off considering all the mad science in here.
Well here goes nothingIIRC it's not averse to the idea of a harem either.
Trump delenda estMmmm....
For some reason thinking of Elvenbane and the one elven lord's marriage agreement that basically said, "one heir for the groom, one heir for the father-in-law, marriage over". (I found the whole thing a bit squicky due to the mental age of the wife.)
DK would probably have some level of conniption if that were even suggested.
Maybe the Winged Trilobite means Agatha is In Charge?
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettIt may even favor the idea. Heterodyne offspring with three different kinds of Spark might be really interesting from the Kestle's point of view—and more likely to succeed in world domination.
If it moves, eat it. If it doesn't move, kick it—then eat it!New strip Interesting turn of events, but the Foglios really should have shown us what the ship looked like before the distortion field dropped.

http://www.mansionofe.comGrandma taking exception to Seffie's plans?
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."There's more than just Grandma with Smoke Knights unfortunately.
The Knights of Jove and the Sturmvarous clan and its cadet offshoots were fracturing like a many-times struck diamond before Agatha's existence originally became public. (Diamond can cleave on a straight line or shatter into dust, depending how you hit the carbon structure.) So who knows what's up with this.
That captain is a smart, smart woman.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry Pratchett@50951 You're looking for They Wasted a Perfectly Good Sandwich.
@50955 I mean, there is a huge difference between those things, but "ethical experimentation" is repeatedly shown to be way down on the list of priorities for any Spark, let alone Klaus Wulfenbach.
For today's strip... well, Tarvek has already mused in the past that there are multiple factions within the Knights of Jove - it wouldn't surprise me if yet another faction reared their heads. I mean, we already have the pro-Tarvek faction, the pro-Tweedle faction, Grandmother's faction, and any faction that Madwa Korel is part of (which presumes that she isn't just a solo rogue, but it wouldn't surprise anyone if she wasn't solo). Who knows who this is.
Side note: given the four factions we already know about within the Knights of Jove (and the fact that I doubt anyone would be surprised by even more), I really get an even stronger sense of why Klaus established the Pax Transylvania, even if The Other isn't a strong consideration.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Where is Tarvek's faction? He deserves minions!
Oh, wait, maybe...?
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."It would be amusing if it turned out be some of his supporters, or even Grandma, insisting that he arrive in England in style.
http://www.mansionofe.com@50969 I get the sense, from reading things, that Tarvek's faction is currently waning in power, and that they're biding their time to strike when Tweedle's faction reveals a vulnerability. That, and I think they're counting on Tarvek's natural charisma to build up allies as he needs them (heck, Violetta even all but said just that to him back in Mechanicsburg).
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.@50955 Well, yes, poking holes in people's brains is ethically unsound. But keep in mind Klaus is, despite his demeanor, a Mad Scientist. The amazing thing about the situation is that he's doing actual science at all, rather than the normal "bend reality until it stops fighting back" that most sparks seem to default to.
As for today's comic, all I could think was "dear [deity or non-deity of reader's choice], Bangladesh Dupree is a species."
strip in question I'd say no, or at least she's not of European Pirate extraction. Note however that Saana, who also spent time as a Pirate Queen, is sporting pink hair like Captain Whatshername here.
http://www.mansionofe.comConsidering the other captain's reaction, I suspect the whole thing was a joke to confuse and distract him from the crewmembers sneaking up on him.
That comment made me recall and just for accident the film The Pirates blood island with everything and the Pirate of the Year Competition. I can picture there being seminars like "Captain Axe's Axe fighting basics".
And that Dupree was hoarding the Pirate of the Year competition for some years in a row until the event with Zeetha happened.

Well here goes nothing
What I want to know is, assuming she wasn't very conveniently on her final quaff, what happened to the rest of her drink?
