You're right, it may actually be Professor Membrane. The Cyclops visor threw me off.

This is also an opportunity for Grandma to 1) show the kids how it's done and 2) show them she's still got it. You know, because they tend to get ideas. (With those kids, it's never if they get ideas.)
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettYes, it's easy to see why she still commands respect . . . and terror!
If it moves, eat it. If it doesn't move, kick it—then eat it!And Embarrassment Fu to disarm any of them fast. Tarvek did get that one fast with the "grandpa was like that" moment. What would she do to Tweedle? The Embarrassing Old Photo perhaps?
Well here goes nothingImagining someone trying to poison Grandma:
"Solanaceae's Brilliant Distillate? Dear, I've been immune to this before you were born."
(Solanaceae is an actual word.)
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettIn our universe, Solanaceae's Brilliant Distillate is really just vodka, so I'm hardly surprised.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Could be nightshade berry wine.
LOL I've been using lines like that on young folk for years!
If it moves, eat it. If it doesn't move, kick it—then eat it!The Science Fiction and Fantasy Stack Exchange has tentatively identified him as Dr. Radium from It's Science with Dr. Radium.
Ding ding ding! Lightningnettle got it!
Solanaceae is part of the scientific name for nightshade.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry Pratchett[[Pedant Mode]]Solanaceae is just the family name for the nightshades. Potatoes are nightshades.[[/Pedant Mode]]

Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettSide note, first time I ran into him was here where I assumed he was just an OC.
I'd say that guy is Professor Membrane- no row of large buttons on his jacket and his mouth is completely covered.

Comic for Monday, February 27, 2017: sneaky gate permalink
This is an automated program that checks the Sneaky Gate every 5 minutes. source codeSo, now that you reminiscing on the old days, pray tell us how did he become such a fearsome monster then?
Eh, we may be hearing that from the horse's mouth soon enough.
Another question is bugging me - now that we know that the Queen of the Dawn is*not** allied with the Geister after all (despite her banner being all over the opera, which they ran) - on which side was King Cheyenne of the Underworld? (presumably the Geister) On which side is Beausoleil? (presumably Zola) On which side is Madwa the Rogue Smoke Knight?
We don't know that: both Zola and Lu are the kind of people who happily mind-rape, ambush, backstab, poison or shoot their supposed allies if it suits their wider goals. And, that poor Geister was all too likely to spill beans she didn't want spilling.

Well I guess that at last we get a view of a "fresh" Van Rijn... and it seems he did like his chocolate mimmoths.
Well here goes nothingLu killed her very faithful, loyal head priestess when she became inconvenient, after all.
Beausoleil is on his own side ultimately. I hope he survives; I wanna see him grovel.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettHuh, so in the flashback of the Shining Coalition, I recognize the young Voltaire and the guy on the left is probably the Iron Sheik. What I really want to know is who's the guy on the right with the antler mask and mutant monstrosity on his arm?
So the Iron Sheik is another guy who's made himself super long lived and/or immortal? 'Cause his son was on Castle Wulfenbach as a student. (relevant link)
(side note: should "Castle Wulfenbach" be italicized, given it's the name of an airship?)
Well, you don't italicize the White House, or Buckingham Palace, so I figure you don't italicize Castle Wulfenbach either. But then that's whether you consider it a literal castle or a ship.

I see no camel, mechanical or otherwise, so I'm not really sure. Maybe that's just the great-grandfather of the current Iron Sheik. Or maybe the title is hereditary?
Looks a lot like Professor Membrane from Invader Zim.
