I think Tom made a typo in the comment. He miswrote "nice" as "cool".
Bud showing up will clearly resolve this entire situation when the monsterboat is halfway through its transformation and Bud explains that Lindsey is married. The boat will politely apologize and proceed to return to its duties, which will now include giving all passengers nightmares.
