Annie really is like a midpoint between her parents.

She looks excited. I guess she's really keen on seeing more of those giant insects.
Wait for it... wait for it... <caffeine crash> There we go!
I wonder if that's Surma's first experience with coffee. Or even really strong tea.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I like pretending that her powers really did cause an explosion on top of her head.
Writer, or something. And... a button? 🖲️Wait. Tony's shirt. We haven't seen him with that symbol before, have we?
No, mostly because we haven't seen him in anything other than his suit. But, I wouldn't be surprised if he was a part of the Shadow Men. He always seems like he knows stuff going on behind the scenes. Maybe he left the organization at some point so he doesn't wear the symbol anymore.
Why is a secret organization constantly flashing their symbol at the public?
Writer, or something. And... a button? 🖲️Who says they're a secret? Juliette and Arthur seemed more like security to me. Security for the Omega Device, perhaps, whatever that is.
It's a secret to the readers and the students, not necessarily to people who actually work for the Court. I'll say it again— it's pretty impressive how little we know about the Court itself, given how long this comic's been going on, and that secrecy doesn't actually feel forced to me.
A shadowy man from a shadowy planet.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Annie's conception will occur right there.
Can confirm: this is how real science works.
Hmm...I don't want to be that guy, but if they're supposed to find what they're looking for this chapter, then things could stand to be condensed a little more.
(If they're not, then that's probably not much of an issue, but even then, I might contend that 21 pages is quite a bit of time to go without really getting to the "they fell in love" part, unless I missed that somehow.)

Oh God! Natural light! No observable activity in the plot either eheheheh
I think this is mostly to establish that there will be significant "no observable activity" moments in the near future.
Also, heh, with very few people around, it's like Tony's an actual human being or something.

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Okay, see, that's pretty compressed.
Oh God! Natural light!I have to admit, I double-checked to see if Tony was identical outside of his shirt in those panels (no, his hair moves, too).
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. How many shirts did she bring along on this trip?
Well, dry clothing is a must-have in those conditions.
What's up with that cicada in the upper-left corner? Does it have an antenna on its back or something?
Spiral out, keep going.
