Methinks that Tony getting along with Kat is more due to her efforts, rather than his. I wonder if Donald has had a word with his daughter after that dinner...

I doubt Kat would make any efforts. I doubt Tony would consciously try either. I suspect they're actually just compatible on a personal level.

Kat likes Annie, Tony has Annie stories— and in many ways, Annie and Tony are very similar people, personality-wise. Kat would pick up on that, and being sensitive and intuitive the way she is, plus being able to get some distance on that father-daughter relationship, might provide Kat with some insight that the two of them otherwise lack.
Tony's problem with Annie is intense guilt over what he thinks of as what he did to Surma, and I suspect that guilt is compounded by knowing that he's unable to be a better father. They're both barely holding it together whenever they're in the same room, and their defense mechanism is the same: shutting down.

I wonder if she's so upset because on some level she felt that as long as Kat hated her father it was okay for her not to. That Kat was a surrogate for her anger.
