It's gonna be Naruto 2.0, like the fanfiction rewrite that doesn't actually change anything but the wording of a few sentences.

I'm quite astonished that there are this many authors suicidal enough to work for a weekly magazine, honnestly…

I can't even figure how people working at this pace for fifteen years straight manage to keep their sanity. Or even their physical health.

They do what Araki did and switch to the monthly one(of course he did it after 20 years of working weekly but still).

Breaks, assistants, holidays... there are lots of things they do to make the strain lessen. It's not like it's one man drawing the entire manga, after all...

They also need to plan out the chapter, the dialogue, and the imagery within a week as well. They also need to get the chapter approved, which takes time, as well as actually get it into print in time for the week.

I always imagined most of them write what they want, its like Confusious said... (or one of his followers who took the name) said: "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life again."

Granted there ARE restrictions that ruin it. For example with Kubo is how he wanted to flesh out Tatsuki and the others more but was rushed to introduce the Soul Reapers and how the Arrancar Arc lasted longer than planned and how some authors get it big enough they ca do whatever the hell they want... sadly, two series I love followed this trend and go on so many hiatuses that you'd think Togashi was leading a cult of it (Black Lagoon and Highschool of the Dead especially). Or like D.Gray-Man where I have NO idea what the hell happened.

Its a bit of a difficult branding, Gintama, Sayonara, Zetubou Sensei, and One Piece are prime examples of the authors clearly enjoying their jobs

On the one hand, it does sound very stress-inducing.

On the other hand, it's probably a lot better than a lot of other jobs people are working. He's writing a manga for a living! That's pretty cool.

Sort of the same with comics nowadays.

Work for Marvel or DC - You'd likely have INCREDIBLY high restrictions on what to write in place of a better paychcek and popularity. Oh, and your character has to play second fiddle to Wolverine or Batman ALWAYS

Work for smaller companies like Dark Horse - Name me five people whose heard of Hack/Slash. BUT, chances are you get to write your story and ideas

Work for insanely small companies like Udon (which surprises me since Udon works for Capcom most of the time) - Who? On the bright side, you get to write glorified fanfictions that, if the company likes; they may adapt bits of it into canon

Yeah, but Araki's either an immortal vampire or a Ripple user, so he doesn't count.

I heard somewhere that Hoshino has arthritis, which is a bit of a handicap when you draw manga, admittedly. Not sure if it's only that though… come back Hoshino. TT^TT

Now if we talk about pace, even some monthly authors have quite a crazy one when they want (Kei Natsumi and her 65-page average chapters on Umineko E3, or Arakawa and her 100 page chapters at the end of FMA)… but not over 20 years. Even with assistants, computers and stuff that's quite the workload.

And Oda may or may not be his hidden child.

In fairness Obito said it was ridiculously exhausting to just have one Rinnegan.

And unlike Madara and Nagato he didn't get much time to become fully capable of using all its powers.

Hey! That's not true! Kaguya only floated while talking for ten chapters, mostly because she was too lame to make that a lasting strategy.

They do suffer negative physical side-effects, so they have holidays and breaks somewhat frequently. Bakuman is a pretty good example of the manga industry (ignoring the ease of getting published in Jump and some of the lengths they go for struggling mangaka), they usually end up living in cramped spaces, poor as hell, and working nearly all the time.

Also, Black Zetsu did most of the talking. Kaguya didn't have anything interesting to say.

You can't blame her for knowing her place as a woman is being silent and listening to a man's orders.

That or she thought everyone was so far beneath her that they didn't deserve to hear her voice. Fits with her planet-sized ego really.

maybe she felt awkward.mistaking your great-great-great-something grandkids for your sons/grandsons must be embarrassing.

To Kaguya's defense, she didn't do anything wrong as much as the plot was contrieved to No-Sell everything she did.

• Instant death chakra absorbtion? Protagonists are immune!
• Drops them into lava? They learn how to fly!
• Throw them in different dimensions? Dead idiot comes back and hacks them!
• Need a lot of chakra to do it? Sakura has more than a one clone army to waste!
• Bind them with god level gravity? Rin's ghost negates it!
• Goes One-Winged Angel? Ghost idiot can ubercharge Kakashi's eyes!
• Makes a spirit bomb? It disappear without explanation and they seal you!
• SAKURA IS INVISIBLE TO THE BYAKUGAN!

Seriously! When the protagonists has the plot tailored seals to defeat her even before their battle started and every remaining logic in the manga got deliberately thrown out of the window just so that they don't instantly die then you know it is more of a general f*** up than the antagonist's fault.

For all her lack of development, Kaguya wasn't meant to be someone likeable as the audience was never meant to concile with her insane goal of turning everyone into plants.

She was meant to be a final boss in the Walpurgis Night sense in that she is a monster to carry out destruction while the evil mastermind stays by the sidelines but since this is shonen, she fails to kill any of the heroes save for the one son of a b**** everyone was urging to die for several chapters.

To me, this series got screwed over when Kishimoto revived Madara instead of ending the war with just Obito.

The whole following arc felt completely forced and unecessary whilist the power levels soared beyond the Willing Suspension of Disbelief.

Madara was basically a walking plot device with power ups falling into his lap everytime he was about to get busted just so that he could complete Infinite Tsukuyomi and switch places with Kaguya.

Instant Sage Mode, super fast Bijuu extraction, instant Juubi revival and control, an eyeswap whenever he needed and all that while he took his sweet time being a Blood Knight battle sadomasochist.

Kaguya and Zetsu then came in as the ultimate Uchiha alibi by basically having manipulated the Creator's Pet all along so that they weren't really responsible for all the atrocities they did with the added bonus of simply needing to be touched by Naruto and Sasuke at the same time instead of having to be beaten into friendship like it would happen with Madara.

Why the hell did we have to go through another entire round of Juubi jins and Naru!Sasu power ups only for the sake of seeing the Sage of the Six Paths and his stoic power addicted mother?

They could have just mentioned it into the Uchiha tablet or Black Zetsu could have played his mastermind part better by switching alliances with Sasuke as Madara got sealed away, it would have been more credible that doing all that crap in a single run.

Anyhow, now there are 14 chapters left at best and I want to see what will happen between Sasuke and Naruto because as sure as hell Kishimoto isn't going to let this thing end without pulling another twist to screw us over.

Kaguya should've teleported them directly inside the lava.

Or use those elemental manipulation powers to lavabend it into their faces.

Or stab them point-blank while Zetsu was making his speech.

Or teleport Sasuke into the acid/lava dimension instead of the sand dimension.

There's something insignificant written here, but because it's insignificant, you didn't read it.

Neither is any of us, yet we could all come up with a way to win with her powers.

Even really passionate people can get burnt out if they work long enough though. it's actually a pretty common problem with certain artistic professions, especially concept art. it's honestly a pretty exhausting job and takes a huge mental toll on you, what with all the research, planning, polishing, etc you have to do while dealing with deadline and editor pressure...

for example, Takehiko Inoue is one of the most passionate and inspirational artists i've ever seen but he put so much of himself into vagabond that he's had to take long breaks multiple times. I'm guessing Kentarou Miura's long hiatuses have similar root causes.

even with all that though, lots of people are passionate enough about drawing to at least give it a shot. jump's not gonna have that much trouble finding something to replace naruto, it might just take a while.

also, am i misremembering, or did kishimoto express interest in doing work for a seinen magazine some 2-3 years ago?
