- A particular Alpha Gaiden doujin puts Jiron at the helm of Boss Borot - which has a similar control system - fighting one of the final enemies of the game. And he wins.
- Crowning Moment Of Funny: The ICBM Catch, especially when Jiron tosses it at Hola's ship and he crawls out simply covered in dust, but with his ass on fire.
- Ugly Cute: Jiron is famously not a typical Real Robot lead - specifically, he's not terribly attractive, frequently getting called Do-Manju ("uber-beancake") or, in one well-known case, Melon Amos. And yet he doesn't have too much trouble attracting the ladies, more through his personality and actions than anything.
- Unfortunate Implications: The Toran Toran race, also created by the Innocent, can be charitably described as pastiches of Indians in old Westerns...
- In Maria's debut episode, her Actual Pacifism is treated like a form of self-delusion, given the Desert Punk setting. Except a lot of her comments are legitimate criticisms of the morality of the setting - or even of any anime with combat or fighting in it. Among other things, she points out Chiru's Troubling Unchildlike Behaviour, who shrugs it off as being of her own free will.
