YMMV / Wendell & Vinnie

Go To

  • Angst? What Angst?: Wendell seems remarkably well adjusted for a child whose parents were unexpectedly killed just six months prior to the start of the series. They get mentioned occasionally (Including one Heartwarming Moment where Vinnie wraps Wendell up in a "blanket burrito" just like his mom used to) but other than that, Wendell doesn't appear to be grieving their deaths.
  • Spiritual Successor: To iCarly...or at least specifically to Spencer Shay (Jerry Trainor's character from the show)
  • Uncertain Audience: Ultimately one of the problems that doomed the show - the jokes and dialogue tended to be too raunchy and adult to be fully appropriate for kids, but the episode plots and general sense of humor were generally too simple and childish for adults to enjoy.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: The series was originally a Nick at Nite original before it was sent to Nickelodeon's regular daytime schedule with some minor editing. As it was a show meant to primarily appeal to adults, the show still had some mild swearing and crass humor, much different than with normally airs on Nickelodeon.
