YMMV / WandaVision Episode 6 "All-New Halloween Spooktacular!"

  • Angst? What Angst?: At the start of the episode, Vision seems to be way more chipper after having an incredibly serious conversation with Wanda about the nature of Westview and her role in making it the way that it is. However, it is invoked in order to keep the kids from being upset and Wanda from stopping him from going off on his own. Vision is actually very much distressed about the situation as he gets closer to Westview's borders.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Pietro's flashback to the Ruritania version of Halloween in Sokovia hits on numerous terrible stereotypes that wouldn't be out of place in a Borat movie.
Pietro: Worse than the costumes Mom made us the year we got typhus.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Hayward's angst about how the last five years were like for people who survived the Snap is dismissed as cowardice by Monica Rambeau, with few people empathizing with him. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier shows that Hayward wasn't exaggerating about this in the slightest, with the Flag-Smashers recruiting from huge populations of refugees who lost everything in the Snap. Even Sam Wilson and his sister Sarah are shown struggling to get money to keep their family afloat without selling their parents' beloved fishing boat, after five years of economic depression.
  • Jerkass Woobie: It's not hard to feel sorry for Hayward when he talks about how hard it was living through the effects of the Snap and subsequent Blip, especially when you consider that he had to hold things together for five years while everyone was going through a severe depression. No wonder he's developed such a hard edge. Darcy's cheap joke at his near-death experience doesn't help, either. Downplayed because he immediately goes for the jugular by mocking Monica as weak, including a jab about it maybe being a good thing that she didn't get to say goodbye to her mother, "since you clearly don't have the stomach for this job."
