• Accidental Innuendo: "Meat Snake" sounds like a euphemism for penis, which makes some of the newspaper articles about finding massive meat snakes rather humorous.
• Common Knowledge: Due to their relative similarity appearance-wise, Darian Quilloy's profile avatar is often mistaken by fans to be an example of a mimic. Darian has clarified in several times that they are separate entities, which is also made apparent by the mimic portrait in the community tab.
• Paranoia Fuel:
  • Mimics are highly intelligent predators and skilled at either disguising themselves to appear more human or hiding inside victims' homes in order to ambush them when they are vulnerable. "Mimic Defense Instructional Tape" helpfully shows a few photos of mimics having contorted and hidden themselves in such unlikely places as inside furniture while lying in wait. In other words, you're not safe from them anywhere.
  • Harvesters are also not much better if you are a fan of talking walks in nature. Any step you make inside a forest or field could be your last one and, unlike Mimics, nobody is able to help you from a slow and painful death even if you have someone with you.
• Special Effects Failure:
  • While the props used for mimics look good when stationary or out of focus, the mimic which appears in "Mimic Defense Instructional Tape" is clearly a person wearing a costume when chasing and attacking the girl holding the camera.
  • The trimmings shown in motion are obviously puppets with an extremely obvious gap between the main body and head. Granted they are still impressive puppets and admittedly look cute in their own ugly way.
• Ugly Cute: Sure they looks like mounds of flesh and scream like a tortured cat but Trimmings in general are very docile and sociable with humans and other Trimmings.
