  • Base-Breaking Character: The Adaptation Deviation of Alicia in the manga adaptation, which is also reflected in the anime. In short, she was changed from a Deconstruction of the Stock Shojo Heroine in the novels to a straight example of it by contextualizing her paranoia over Yumiella and showing her attempt to connect with Yumiella despite the paranoia. Supporters of the novel Alicia considers the manga/anime's changes water down her personality to, well, Stock Shojo Heroine, while supporters of the manga/anime Alicia consider it more loyal to the genre's conventionsnote  and her Character Development reads more natural than the novel version.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: There was a bit of anger from some viewers over the ending of anime episode 12, due to Alicia acting alone, against her will, in trying to backstab Yumiella, and getting stopped by the three reverse-harem boys. Other viewers though are kind of glad the more-developed Alicia Enlight & Co got a "good" ending out of this too.
  • Diagnosed by the Audience: Yumiella is outwardly The Stoic but has lots of odd ideas, has a special interest in RPGs and especially Level Grinding (to the point of monologuing on how to best level up on the drop of a hat despite it never being well received by her audience), and has No Social Skills beyond following the court etiquette (and even that can be read as simply following a fixed script) despite being of college age before reincarnating. This leads people to suspect she (and by extension, the Gamer Chick reincarnated as her) is autistic.
  • Fan Nickname: "Dorkness" or just "Dork" for Yumiella, referencing both her powers of darkness and her Adorkable actions. It's probably not a coincidence that her surname is Dolkness, almost as if the author planned this from the outset.
