- Awesome Moments: In the Season 1 Finale, Nathan, despite being reduced to 2gig status, manages to hack his way out of Lakeview to play Mission Control for Nora while she runs for her life, culminating in him using an elevator to kill her pursuer.
- Heartwarming Moments: Though Ingrid's sex suit is Played for Laughs, and there is something incredibly depressing about seeing her "cuddling" empty air in the bathtub, there's also something incredibly touching about it. If love is defined as being willing to be uncomfortable for the sake of your partner, then Ingrid — Dumb Blonde Spoiled Brat or not — does in fact love Nathan.
- Paranoia Fuel: Lakeview residents are being constantly watched by the support staff, losing all privacy in their afterlife. Even the privacy mode is actually a lie since Lucy can override it and even watched Luke shower for fun.
- They Copied It, So It Sucks!: Upon release, a few critics gave the show mixed reviews because it came on the heels of The Good Place. (Not helped by the fact The Good Place is the work of Greg Daniel's frequent collaborator, Michael Schur.) However, the first season has had high critic and user ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. Time will tell if the focus on technology and class struggle will be enough to distinguish it from its predecessor.
