  • Special Effect Failure: There is a scene where Simon boards a moving train from a helicopter, at night. The shots of the helicopter flying above the train are obviously done with models. We see the gang in the cabin of a real helicopter, but the rotor is out of shot, suggesting that they're in a helicopter parked against a dark background. When Simon is winched down and up, we only see him on the outside of the carriage or in the door of the helicopter, never in between.
  • Values Dissonance: It was made in France in 1972. One of Commissioner Coleman's informants is a woman who wears a lot of makeup. He brings her into the station because he's not happy with the quality of her snitching, and she is revealed to be transgender when he tells her (paraphrased) "Get your hair cut and start wearing men's clothes, or I'll charge you with being a transvestite." This is suggestive not just of widely-held prejudices, but widely-held prejudices with the force of law.
