YMMV / Transformers vs. Visionaries

• Broken Base: The Hasbro Comic Universe has long been a divisive concept amongst some of the hardcore fans, but opinions are split right down the middle regarding this miniseries, especially coming off the wake of the already controversial reception to the end of First Strike. If nothing else, what few Visionaries fans there are seem to love it, while amongst Transformers circles the reception has been much more mixed.
  • Is the crossover an interesting way to continue the mystery of the Talisman in preparation for the upcoming Onyx Prime storyline, or is it just shoehorning the Transformers into yet another Hasbroverse comic to try and generate interest in the new characters? The decision to cancel The Transformers: Till All Are One right around the time that this comic was announced also didn't win it many popularity points.
  • Kup's death. A good way to show that the Prysmosians aren't messing around, or a cheap way to write off a fan-favorite character in the name of "shock value?" It says something that not even the author was happy about the editor-mandated decision, at any rate...
  • The redesigned Visionaries: Are they a Younger and Hipper take on the characters to adapt them for a more diverse era of comics publishing, or are they unrecognizable from the originals?
• Unexpected Character: Pretty much nobody expected Quickswitch to make an appearance in the IDW universe, though he winds up as something of a Red Shirt.
