• Ho Yay: Much like the Fun Pub stories, Starscream's utter devotion to Megatron is easy to read as romantic infatuation.
  • In addition, the interactions between Optimus and Megatron in issue 2 give Optimus a Yandere vibe.
  • The relationship between Jetfire and Starscream. They were clearly close before the war, and Jetfire siding with the Autobots broke Starscream's heart.
• Unexpected Character: For the Shattered Glass collection, many were surprised by the reveal of Jetfire. Not only was it unexpected that a Commander class toy would receive an SG repaint but Jetfire himself was a very minor Autobot goon in the original Fun Pub stories.

• The Woobie: Poor Starscream. His best friend betrays him, he has to destroy his life's work, the Decepticons lose the war, and finally, he gets captured because of said friend. And then he dies.
