- Ethnic Scrappy: Abdul Fakkadi's mannerisms, and his country ended up being a haven for enough negative stereotypes of Arabs for Casey Kasem to quit the show.
- Values Dissonance: The episode's portrayal of Arabs would not fly today, and arguably was rather tasteless even back when it aired (enough for cast member Casey Kasem to quit the show for it). The name "Carbombya" is almost memetic for the sheer awkwardness of it.
