YMMV / Transformers Aligned Universe

Go To

  • Complete Monster: See here.
  • Fandom Rivalry: Transformers in general has a Broken Base, but this series alone has seen differing tones across multiple iterations. While there might be some overlap, expect debates as to which one should've been the standard.
  • Salvaged Story: The Covenant of Primus was Hasbro's attempt to mesh the various conflicting story lines into a cohesive narrative... with very mixed success.
  • Uncertain Audience: Much of the reason its grand Shared Universe ambitions were seen as having failed was that there ended up being very little overlap between its various branches. People who came on board for Transformers: War for Cybertron ended up having little interest in Transformers: Prime and vice versa, due to the vastly different aesthetic and approaches: the former being essentially a slightly revised G1 being aimed at nostalgic adults, the latter being a substantial reworking with elements of many prior shows aimed at all ages. That's to say nothing of Transformers: Rescue Bots, which is essentially aimed at six-year-olds and is pretty hard to square with its relatives from a tonal perspective.
