- Fridge Logic: Um, exactly how can someone be a Half-Human Hybrid of a human and a flower?!
- Values Dissonance: The reason why Time Stranger Kyoko was cut short was not only because Tanemura's editors didn't like the story, but Kyoko's headstrong personality wasn't very well-received by the readers of the magazine the manga ran in. The manga ranked low on official polls and Tanemura stated in 2012 that it "just wasn't released at the right time" for Kyoko's personality to be acceptable for the main character of a shoujo manga.
