  • Difficulty Spike: The last area suddenly changes the genre to a dungeon crawler featuring a maze of bottomless pits and actual turn-based combat where you actually have to pay attention to what you're doing.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Rock Knight and Parrot Grass, courtesy of Retsupurae.
  • He's Just Hiding: Rock Knight gets this a lot. Many fans have declared Fanon Discontinuity on his death. This includes the boys at Retsupurae, who shouted cries of "NOT CANON" instantly after the death scene in question.
  • It's Easy, So It Sucks!: The game is a basic and very linear Japanese adventure game with little puzzles and actual fallible combat, so to follow the story the player must simply exhaust every dialogue option on each scene.
  • Memetic Badass: Rocknight, a guitarist in golden armor, is well loved by people who watched the Retsupurae on the game. Sadly, the character goes wasted as the entire "Rockers From Hell" band gets killed offscreen without doing anything. It wasn't much better in the manga proper, where they were minor villains who got quickly outsmarted and killed by Cobra.
  • The Problem with Licensed Games: The game is the typical Japanese-style adventure game where you just exhaust dialogue options to continue the story, with few spots where choosing incorrect options actually punishes the player. Some regard it to be rather bad as Cobra is presented as a Designated Hero through most of it and nearly every decision tree has But Thou Must! pouring out of it. It was the subject of a seven hour MST by Retsupurae.
