• Alternative Character Interpretation:
  • Does Homer REALLY not know that Sideshow Bob is trying to kill Selma when Bart was trying to explain it to him or did he know all along and merely acts like he has no clue simply for time? After all, he was the one who suggested to take a walk and come back "in the mood for love," and longtime Simpsons viewers should probably know Homer's relationship with his sisters-in-law by now.
  • It's not entirely clear when and why Sideshow Bob plotted to murder Selma. He could have intended on doing it all along to get at Selma's money like Bob openly worries other people will think, or it could have been later after realising Selma's repugnant habits as well as her liking MacGyver more than him. If he simply wanted to hurt Bart by targeting a member of his family, there's the question of when and how he found out that Selma and Bart were related.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • Bob says that he'll be out of jail once a Democrat is elected. His next appearance out of jail happened to come after a Democrat was elected president. Amusingly enough, the appearance after that not only had him run for the Mayor's office as a Republican but had him rig an election that he very well could've won by a decent margin anyway.
  • Sideshow Bob's hatred of MacGyver (1985) and its cast is funny since Richard Dean Anderson is a huge Fanboy of The Simpsons to the point he got several references to the Simpsons in Stargate SG-1 which in turn got him a guest spot on the show in "Kiss Kiss Bang Bangalore".
