• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • Homer saying he'd go back to Brazil if not for what he heard about the monkey trouble becomes funnier after he does go back to Brazil for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
  • J. K. Rowling's snarky response to Lisa that Harry Potter "grows up and marries you. Is that what you want to hear?" is quite amusing since when the episode aired, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince had not been released. When Harry's eventual love interest was revealed to be Ginny Weasley, the fangirls had a collective fit. One can imagine Lisa would too.
• One-Scene Wonder: Out of all the cameos from British celebrities, Sir Ian McKellen and his poor luck regarding Macbeth is easily the most memorable.
• Unintentional Period Piece:
  • Tony Blair's appearance as the Prime Minister of England dates the episode to before he stepped down on June 24th, 2007.
  • The Simpsons decide to bring Madonna back home to the U.S.A. and kidnap her in a travelling bag. This is a reference to Madonna's marriage to Guy Ritchie (and related move to Britain), which lasted from 2000 to 2008.
  • Queen Elizabeth II's appearance in the episode dates it to before her death on September 8th, 2022.
  • The cameo by J.K. Rowling very obviously sets the episode before the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, in which Harry marries Ginny Weasley in the epilogue.
