- Captain Obvious Reveal: After Changeless ends with Alexia getting pregnant despite her husband being a sterile werewolf, it seems obvious to the readers that this is because her preternatural nullification also nullified his sterility. It's apparently not obvious to anyone in-universe, though, and Alexia ends up forced to spend most of Blameless figuring out what happened.
- Ho Yay: Madame Lefoux, who first appears in the second book, is fairly obviously attracted to Alexia, who is rather oblivious, at least until after she's already happily back together with her husband and thus not interested.
- Moral Event Horizon: Felicity informing Lady Kingair of Lyall's involvement in the Kingair Pack's treason, with the specific intention of ruining Alexia's marriage when Lord Maccon found out.
