• Awesome Music: The jazzy, energetic and occasionally eerie score, which helps add to the film’s noir feel.
• He Really Can Act: Reviews almost always point out Richard Anderson's terrifying performance as Richard Malcolm as a highlight, managing to make Malcolm a tragic figure while still remaining a terrifying and unhinged Serial Killer who can barely restrain himself.
• Moral Event Horizon: It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when and where Richard Malcolm crossed it, but it probably came during his first killing spree.
• One-Scene Wonder:
  • Al Lewis as an eccentric homeless man, though he does technically show up in a second scene as a corpse.
  • Margaret Hamilton as a snarky anthropology professor.
