• Awesome Music: Plenty. In particular the Robot's performance of "Hold Back the River" in the first episode helped set the tone for the show.
  • In the second season, Queen was a standout from the very first (absolutely no one was surprised when she made the grand final); on at least two occasions, Osher knelt before her on stage in tribute to her performance. The first of these was 'Paint it Black', which was featured in all the commercials for that episode and deemed the greatest performance yet.
  • You also have the finale performances, where everyone who was eliminated come back to sing one last time with the finalists.
    • Season 1 had everyone sing "This Is Me", which fit perfectly well with the show's tone.
    • Meanwhile, Season 2 had everyone sing "Together", with a greater time to shine for each eliminated singer.
• Harsher in Hindsight: In Season 4, Mirrorball's first song was Olivia Newton-John's "Xanadu". Olivia would pass away only a few days later.
• Overshadowed by Controversy: A controversy arose when a Youtube cover channel named Halocene began to claim that the Lion’s cover of "bad guy" had been stolen from them.
• Questionable Casting: A lot of people question the choice of Lindsay Lohan as one of the judges, seeing as she's very unfamiliar with Australian celebrities and TV culture.
• Shocking Elimination:
  • Wizard's elimination in only the third round of Season Two caught many off guard as he was seen as a very strong singer.
  • Tiger's elimination in just the second round of Season Four, considering he was one of the featured singers in this commercial.
