- Adaptation Displacement: The animation is better known than the MMO game of the same name, despite that the KOF series is a video game driven franchise. This has to do with their availability; the KOF: Destiny animation is readly available on both SNK's official YouTube channel and Steam (with English subtitles), while the KOF: Destiny game is only released in China and Taiwan. Most of those living outside the countries don't know the game exists, let along playing it.
- Awesome Art:
- The choreography is quite impressive for a webseries.
- The illustrations for the side story episodes are nothing short of impressive.
- Awesome Music:
- The series provides some pretty kickass remixes of classic King of Fighters tracks. For instance, the early episodes end with "Tears" - KOF Destiny Ver..
- "Awakening of Justice" by M2U and NICODE serves as a great opening song for the series, and the full version even features "Esaka?" in its guitar solo. They also made an English version.
- "No Time to See You / Too Late to Say Goodbye", the second ending theme, which appears to be a love song by Angelina declaring her love for her hero, Terry.
- Evil Is Cool: Geese and Rugal, of course. Two evil badasses that you love seeing on screen while looking forward to their inevitable beatdown.
- Ho Yay: Kyo's relationship with Benimaru. There are times in which you think one of them is a tsundere for the other and while Kyo even compliments on Benimaru to get his aid.
- Never Live It Down: Terry's incredibly bad luck with the ladies has been going on starting from the Fatal Fury OVAs to this series.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!:
- Although the battle animations are well-regarded, many fans believe the designs leave something to be desired due to looking very Off-Model relative to their appearances in the games. It doesn't help that the quality between each of the character models is rather inconsistent.
- Some of the characterization choices are not well-received, such as Ryo becoming a complete Butt-Monkey or Kyo losing his Hot-Blooded spitfire traits.
