  • Awesome Music: The songs written by Takashi Yanase and performed by Japanese music group "100s" are very decent and groovy. They include a song performed during sequences where an adult Buru-buru is running, to "Muku-muku's Lullaby", which is very touching and beautiful lullaby. Then there's the upbeat and catching musical number played when Buru-buru and his mother are dancing with each other (which is also used for the credits).
  • Moe: Both Muku-muku and Buru-buru are extremely friendly and adorable, especially during touching moments between the two as they grow older in the story.
  • What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: Similar to Chirin no Suzu, the original book and animated film were aimed at children and family audiences. While both characters end up killed at the end, both stories are very beloved by families and the older generation in Japan.
