• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
  • Some fans thought that they should have been the ones in Mankind's corner for the match where he defeated The Rock for the WWE Championship on the January 4, 1999 episode of WWE Raw instead of D-Generation X, since they were the same DX who Cactus Jack accurately labeled a "group of scum" just several months back on the April 6, 1998 episode.^note Cactus Jack and Terry Funk had defeated The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn) for the WWE World Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania XIV on March 29, 1998 in a Dumpster Match. The following night on Raw the belts were held up on the grounds that Jack and Funk had used the "wrong" dumpster. The Outlaws defeated Jack and Funk in a cage match which saw Triple H, Chyna and X-Pac interfere. As such, DX being there was one of the lamest applications of the Three Month Rule, as if WWE clearly thought that because DX were Faces no one would remember what they had previously done to Mick Foley.
  • Many fans thought that, instead of being stuck in a directionless feud with The Brood, they should have been on the front lines with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Mick Foley and Owen Hart against The Corporation, since the whole idea behind The J.O.B. Squad in the first place was that Al, Scorpio and Bob Holly were fed up with the company making them look stupid for so long.
