• Angst? What Angst?: Neither Preston nor Veronica show any onscreen angst in the episode following their season three breakup. It's not even fully addressed until a few episodes later. Later lampshaded in season 4, when Preston ribs Veronica for immediately angsting after her breakup with Jack, when she didn't when she broke up with Preston.
• Narm: One of the issues that John Oliver had with the show when he profiled it on his own show. Clips he used as examples included things like Amanda using "postal inspectors" and "worst nightmare" in the same sentence, or Georgia running a chemical analysis to find a specific type of guacamole.
• Narm Charm: For all its problems, though, the show sometimes takes a "wink wink" approach when it comes to goofier elements. For instance, the scene of Amanda and Mitch arresting a suspect at a food truck (which John Oliver also featured on his show) was done tongue-in-cheek.
