- Best Known for the Fanservice: In most people's memory, all this film is about is a young Katie Holmes at the height of her Dawson's Creek fame doing the only nude scene of her career, baring her breasts and yelling the F-word at some guy. Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle lampshades this trope beautifully with an exchange between Rosenberg and Goldstein:Goldstein: "We're gonna watch The Gift on HBO. Supposedly Katie Holmes shows her titties in this movie!"
- He Really Can Act: Keanu Reeves is downright unrecognizable as a terrifying abusive husband who seems to be made out of hatred and ego.
- Jerkass Woobie:
- Jessica King. While it was wrong of her to cheat on her fiance, she never deserved to be beaten and killed, especially in such a horrifying and grotesque manner.
- Valerie. It's hard not to feel bad for her, considering that her husband abuses her frequently, though it certainly is very sadistic of her to state that Jessica "deserved it" (to be mutilated and killed) for being unfaithful.
- So Okay, It's Average: While the main cast is lauded, and the film as a whole isn't considered to be bad, it is largely seen as forgettable, with a bland story, and an underwhelming climax. It also doesn't help that despite being a supernatural film, it features very little of Sam Raimi's signature style. Making it not quite stick in the minds of a lot of filmgoers.
