• Harsher in Hindsight: Veidt finished and submitted the story "Be Not Conformed To This World," in May, 2016. It takes place in a West Virginia town prone to heavy rains, and one of the key details of the plot was that a flood washed away the coffin of a newly-buried friend of the narrator, never to be seen again. Not a month later, and the state of West Virginia actually does get flooded in one of the worst tragedies to befall the state in many years.
