• Alternative Character Interpretation: Did Laura really leave because Michael's father was insistent that her new son be raised in Chicago, or had she finally gotten sick of being at the centre and just went along with the wishes of Michael's father? Note how she seems to get more frustrated with Brittas than usual in this series and "Brussels Calling" had her almost on the verge of a mental breakdown during her time running the leisure centre (even if that was mainly Brittas' fault unbeknownst to her).
• Harsher in Hindsight: The episode ends with it showing that everyone is due to have their happy ending, which hits more tragically when it's revealed in "Back with a Bang" that Brittas lost the job due to his death and resurrection (which also led to Helen losing the lifestyle she was about to have), Julie chucked out her fiancée, and Mr. von Trap ran off with a nun, leaving Carole heartbroken and back at the centre.
