* AGoodNameForARockBand:
** The Nasaghasts.
** Punch Dracula.
** Secret Robot Animal.
** Death Volley.
** Kaiju Ghost Battle.
* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: The narrative encourages wildly varying interpretations of the main characters.
** Is Doc a hero, a villain, or a WellIntentionedExtremist? He kills without mercy (and often unnecessarily) and opposes King Radical out of what is clearly a personal vendetta as opposed to plain heroism. [[spoiler: Of course, it turns out that he's right about King Rad having nefarious plans]].
** Is King Radical an AntiVillain, a hero, or a VillainWithGoodPublicity? He is doing his best to make the world as a whole (and Cumberland) in particular a more awesome place in which to live, but he acts like a mafia don and recruits criminals. In the "All the King's Dirtbikes and All the King's Men" arc, it's revealed that Rad is [[spoiler:trying to transform Doc's world into a new Radical land, but is actually a version of Chuck Goodrich]], flipping the scale back and forth between villainous and heroic.
* AssPull: The Doctor is trained to fight in his sleep, Gordito ended up with a black eye and he mentioned waking up killing goons once thanks to this training. Fortunately the president has agents with [[http://drmcninja.com/archives/comic/30p05/ gentlest of hands]] so it's not a problem.
* CrazyAwesome: TheSeries.
** The title character shows moments of being somewhat mentally unbalanced, but always in ridiculously cool ways. For instance, in one arc he is inspired to go rescue his estranged family from a shipload of pirates by a talking roast turkey, who explicitly tells him that it's an illusion. In the next arc, he attempts to find out how a Velociraptor got into his office by busting through a skylight in a warehouse and accosting some random burly types, because his decision-making process is based on "What Would Batman Do?" He comes by this honestly, as his father's favorite way of evading pursuit is to [[IncendiaryExponent set himself on fire]], because, "They can't grab me if I'm on fire." It's gotten to the point where Dr. [=McNinja=] is now its god in the [[Pantheon/{{Theater}} Pantheon]].
** A good example [[http://drmcninja.com/archives/comic/10p8 here]]. The Amazing Flying Shooting Juan.
** And from that trope's page:
--> '''Dr. [=McNinja=]:''' Oh. How stupid of me. That was the sound of ''chainsaw nunchucks''.
** Dr. [=McNinja=] jumps off the moon, completely unassisted, carrying a Dracula-bot, and then proceeds to [[http://drmcninja.com/archives/comic/11p48 SURF]] said Dracula-bot to Earth's surface.
** [=McNinja=] [[spoiler:cheated death with a ShutUpHannibal]] and a well-placed left hook.
** In Futures trading, King Radical and Co. managed to print off the internet [[spoiler:just before the super intelligent dinosaurs shut it down.]]
** It would be easier to list what ''isn't'' CrazyAwesome in this comic. But then, that's probably mostly uninteresting stuff.
** You know stuff gets crazy when the random ramblings of a chatbot sound like what ''a real person in that universe would say.'' "Dumped me in favor of a man whose abdominal muscles were so well developed, they mutated into organic jetpacks" sounds perfectly normal.
* CrossesTheLineTwice: Happens ''a lot''. The ending of "Judy Gets A Kitten" is probably the best example. [[spoiler: If you think you could never laugh at a Velociraptor trying to eat a kitten, you're wrong.]]
* DracoInLeatherPants: King Radical was simply too awesome and did have a reason for the evil he was doing during most of the story, even then his plans to improve the town has some benefits. When the comic shows his true color, a petty mass murderer with no empathy for the universe he lives in, letters defending him stopped according to an alt text.
* DudeNotFunny: Lampshaded during ''There's A Raptor In My Office'' when Yoshi eats a woman's dog. The Alt Text suggests that you do not show this page to animal lovers.
* FauxSymbolism: [[http://drmcninja.com/archives/comic/21p100/ This page]]
-->'''AltText''': The script for this page reads: "9) The sun rises. Symbolic as hell."
* FoeYay:
** Doc and Hortense. They ''are'' exes after all.
** Also, Doc and Frans. And Dan and Frans. Everyone's gay for Frans?
** Now, Doc and [[spoiler: King Radical]].
* GeniusBonus: Did you know: the symbol [[spoiler:Sparklelord]] has on his breastplate [[http://drmcninja.com/archives/comic/31p47/ here (spoiler warning!)]] is a [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symbol_of_Chaos Star of Chaos]], symbolizing its endless posibilities. You may know it better from ''TabletopGame/{{Warhammer 40000}}'', which all but hijacked the mark for itself.
* HeartwarmingInHindsight: In one of the early arcs, Doc tries to solve a mystery by asking himself "What would ''Batman'' do". [[spoiler: In "AWOL MD" we learn that he does things like that because he loved Batman comics growing up and they inspired him to the hero and nice guy he is today.]]
* HilariousInHindsight: Creator/KateBeaton's guest comic had [=McNinja=] not knowing what do to his [[http://drmcninja.com/archives/comic/12p3 potato garden]]. Flash forward 2 years to the Army of One storyline, where it turns out the clone in charge of learning agriculture didn't make it to the amalgamation.
** For the author, [[http://drmcninja.com/archives/comic/21p30 this page]], since it was written days before the US President's announcement of the death of Osama Bin Laden, public enemy number one, and happened to be posted twelve hours afterward. For everyone else, it felt like it was RippedFromTheHeadlines (unless they had only just found out from the AltText).
** Anyone remember [[spoiler: Archibald, king of the hobos?]]
** Chuck Goodrich thinks reading books is boring. [[spoiler:Whether he's Mayor of Cumberland, or King Radical.]]
** [[http://drmcninja.com/archives/comic/9p27/ This]] page of the comic, where we learn that the [=McNinja=]'s earlier security system involved having a SuckECheeses animatronic bear [[FiveNightsAtFreddys unexpectedly jump out at people]].
* InferredHolocaust: When King Radical [[spoiler:turns the buildings of Cumberland into a GiantMecha]], how many people do you think died or were seriously injured while their ''entire houses'' were floating through the air? Let alone [[spoiler:while the mecha itself moves around]].
** Surprisingly averted when [[spoiler: the Radbot gets deactivated. All the buildings just gently fall back into their proper places, which the AltText [[LampshadeHanging jokingly]] [[HandWave suggests]] is caused by the [[VoodooShark "advanced gho]][[NoEndorHolocaust st network"]].]]
* JerkassWoobie: King Radical. He just wants to make the world a cooler place, and when he talks to Dr. [=McLuchador=][[spoiler:/[=McNinja=]]] about Radical Land, you can almost ''feel'' the longing in the text. ''Almost'' had another example in a recent comic when [[spoiler: Herschel explodes]] and looks terrified, but is overjoyed by his replacement.
** In "All The King's Dirtbikes And All The King's Men" we learn that [[spoiler: Sparklelord]] became evil partially because the then-current King Radical (back then our King Radical was just Sir Sicknasty) and his allies ''destroyed his home and people just because they weren't cool enough''. '''Ouch'''.
* JumpingTheShark: {{Lampshaded}} in the alt text on [[http://drmcninja.com/archives/comic/11p24/ this page]].
* MagnificentBastard: Gordito, of all people, deliberately puts himself and Doc in danger in order to push Martin, a Hulk CaptainErsatz, past his mental block.
** King Radical.
* MemeticBadass: Doc himself.
* MemeticMutation: "[[http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/ninjas-cant-catch-you-if Ninjas can't catch you if...]]" It started with Dan's proclamation that they can't catch you if you're on fire and branched out from there.
** [[http://drmcninja.com/archives/comic/33p56/ Eventually referenced in the comic itself.]]
* MoralEventHorizon: In The End Part 2, if Radical really did [[spoiler:have a giant lumberjack who is really a small child killed with toxic gas just to unsettle Dr. McNinja]], that's a good candidate.
** And if that didn't do it for you, there's his sickeningly casual murder of [[spoiler: Old [=McNinja=...AND the Pterodactyl. The Pterodactyl was Radical's ALLY.]]].
* RewatchBonus: Everything about King Radical, Chuck Goodrich, and Sparklelord after we learn their respective origins.
* TastesLikeDiabetes: The appropriately titled chapter, "Judy gets a kitten". Because [[CuteKitten kittens are cute]].
* ValuesDissonance: Early in the comic, characters would casually throw around insults like ''gay'' or ''retarded.'' This was thankfully dropped around the switch to color.
* WhatAnIdiot: The president landing Marine One on the Radbot's hand and not even bothering to keep it running just in case Rad should decide to...you know...move the hand. This even lampshaded in the alt-text. Similarly, assuming that King Radical would be willing to hand over the Radbot in exchange for a simple case of Mountain Dew Code Red. To be fair, Radical didn't actually go back on his word, that just doesn't mean he'll stop Ron from doing it for him.
* WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs: Really just the whole thing, but lampshaded by the author [[http://drmcninja.com/archives/comic/25p92/ with the introduction of King Radical's henchmen]], the {{Dubstep}} Quartet.
--> Sometimes people are all "Dude what are you ON when you come up with your ideas?!" And I get insulted, but I will get straight with you. I came up with dubstep quartet while drunk.
